fiddlersport
Rotating ct9 turbo from stock position to face it south (fmic)Is there a locating pin on these turnos ?
Bug679
I think there is man best just seperate it and give it bit of clean anyway and you'll see if theres a locating pin just grind it off
adzy
Yes there is a locating pin.No need to grind it, it should just pull out with pliars. To get the compressor housing of there is a big circlip, so good circlip pliars and a small flat screwdriver will help.
dan106
I never needed to remove anything when i rotated my compressor housing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
tommyep82
I just loosened the clip and gave it few gentle tips of a mallet to move my hybrid ct9
aleximport25
When I was on ct9 I managed to rotate it with gentle persuasion and with not taking anything to bits.
adzy
I took mine of as if you rotate it with the locating pin still in you just break it of. And I didn't fancy a lose bit of metal floating about in any part of my turbo
StuDoc 72
Take off the exhaust housing remove the pin with pliers and then refit it. Exactly like Adzy says unless you want a bit of metal floating about in your turbo like a complete novice.
dan106
Ah so it's exhaust side? That's good to know! I need to rotate my centre cartridge, cheers for the info fellas Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
StuDoc 72
Yes mate the pin is on the exhaust side. If you need to rotate the cartridge then both will need to come off. Best having the oil feed parallel to the ground and the hot pipe facing down toward the FMIC for shortest route
dan106
Just bumping this up, got my turbo back from a rebuild and I need to rotate the centre cartridge. How do you remove the exhaust housing and what do I need to avoid doing?
