FreedomCore Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Afternoon guys. My GT occasionally spits out a load of this sooty liquid. Any ideas? Should I be concerned?Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk Quote
adzy Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Have you had your ecu unplugged or anything?Mine did this after I put my ecu back in, but after taking it for a drive to let it adjust a bit was fine after Quote
FreedomCore Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 Well it started after it went on a dyno. But the battery keeps going flat as the alternator needs changing. But when I say flat I mean like completely dead. So the ecu has probably forgot itself once or twice. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk Quote
TD04GT Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 It could be just unburnt fuel coming out, mine only began to do it when I upped the fuel pressure. Have you an aftermarket fpr fitted? Quote
FreedomCore Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 Not anymore. It had one when I got it but it didn't work. So it's currently got a standard fpr on it. It could potentially have an uprated pump on it. Can't say for sure though. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk Quote
Ollieh17 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Cold weather, condensation in a sooty exhaust etc. Wouldn't worry too much Quote

FreedomCore Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 Well as I said, it first happened right after my rolling road session. Like it didn't do it on the drive there. But did it right after the test. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk Quote
Ollieh17 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Does it smell like fuel? I bet its just water. Highly doubt its anything to do with swapping a battery or ecu 'forgetting' itself Quote
FreedomCore Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 I'm pretty sure it is water. But there's a lot of it and this was after a like 20 minute drive Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk Quote
Ollieh17 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Was the car warm, every turbo car i know with decat and exhaust system does this on start up and when cold. My glanza with a side exit used to cover my neighbouts car Quote
adzy Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Mine was fully warmed up when it did it, otherwise I'd have thought condensation Quote
Ollieh17 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 If you are 100% sure it wasn't condensation you should probably get it looked at lol. Car may be up to temp but doesn't mean all condensation has burnt off Quote
StuDoc 72 Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Engine could also be warm without the exhaust being warm. Might be all sitting in the back box which is going to be the coolest part of the exhaust and would need to reach 100 degrees+ to get rid of all condensation. I'd be 99% sure its condensation if not then your HG is fuuuuuuuu huckkkked. Is the ECU pnp or programmed? Quote
FreedomCore Posted November 15, 2016 Author Posted November 15, 2016 As far as I'm aware. It's a standard ECU. Although Im not 100%. It's not dropping coolant or anything. Probably is just condensation. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk Quote
fiddlersport Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 Overfuelling ? The black sut coulde have been there a while and now the coldweather has kicked the condensation could be flushing out ?Just a wild guessCheck the colour of your spark plugsGood tell tale sign of fuelling Quote
starletezy Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 My gt use to do that in cold weather its condensation and the black stuff is built up soot from your exhaust the condensation is flushing it out Quote
5e colin Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 (edited) Normal condensation on stone cold engine in this new cold weather please don't rev the shit like that out off a cold engine Edited November 16, 2016 by 5e colin Quote
