muddyell
what bhp is your car running and toque figures etc?what mods are you running aswell to get that.any proof rolling road printoffs etc.ill start it off 1997 starlet sportif completely standard88bhp and 107 lbft of torque. You got proof of that mate because that torque figure is way too high and so is your bhp figure come to think of it
pallett
once i can find how out how to use my scanner then use the images ill get you the printout, the only thing i had done was serviced the car the day before and that was it, if i cant do it that way ill try taking upclose photos of the graph boys. Idrees
I think Toyota underestimated the power.Muddyell yours got 89bhp with a backbox didn't it? Surely a backbox would not gain 15bhp!
Starletraje
hmm... odd... Wonder what mine isJust a stab in the dark but is this fluctuation not a case of a dynamometer measuring the HP at the wheels instead of BHP which i believe is measured before any form of engine braking is applied through gears, clutch etc? ste91
I'm sure they underestimated the top speed aswell, another thing to add to this thread aswell as BHP/Torque figures would be the highest speed you've hit.
RobSR
@pallet...sorry mate..but i doubt that torque figure's correct...where did you have it RR'd? as there are little things you can do to make it overread alot...
Rich
@pallet...sorry mate..but i doubt that torque figure's correct...where did you have it RR'd? as there are little things you can do to make it overread alot...Yeah when I had mine RR'd it said 105 lb/ft torque at 2500 rpm - I never knew I had a diesel
pallett
i had it done at a place called hitech motorsports in dudley, near birmingham.the 88bhp was at the fly, and it came about 71 at the wheels. on the dyno sheet said it reached 88bhp at 5400rpm, the torque figure when it hit just over the hundred mark was from about 2200rpm to 2700rpm and it drops quite a bit before and after that on a quick guess saying averaging about 92lbft throughout. ive tried getting the graph onto my pc but the crappy paper its on and how faint the markings are make it barely visible. Sparky
Its strange the torque figures people get...my car doesnt come alive untill after 4k and then its still shit
Starletraje
Its strange the torque figures people get...my car doesnt come alive untill after 4k and then its still shit At least it looks the bollocks then
pallett
mine feels liek that too though, i dont have a revmeter yet but guessing judging from my old 1.3 mine doesnt seem to want to start really pulling until about 3500rpm, thinkg with these little starlets is its quicker than most other little corsas, saxos, etc, but it just doesnt feel quick at all, whereas my old mitsi colt for a 1.3 felt like an animal could easily keep with vtr,s etc.
pallett
here is the best pics i cud get of the graph,
Starletraje
And it really has no mods? Nothing at all?
pallett
at the time i had only had it abotu a week there was absolutely nothing done at all, i think i may have a photo of the enigine bay while it was bein rr'd ill ahve a look soon, also ask leeep82 he was there at the time. at the moment now i have a k&n air filter and waiting for a gasket to fit new inlet manifold then gonna get an exhaust then get it done again hoping to make 100bhp at the fly then
Rich
Its strange the torque figures people get...my car doesnt come alive untill after 4k and then its still shit Yeah mines the same up till 4kish then it pulls good (Get a rolla mani ), It manages to keep up with VTRs and even gains on them in 4th dependant on gear changes though. However before 4krpm (guessing no rev guage) it feels like I have left the handbrake on.Any suggestion on how can I improve the torque curve in the graph (mainly the outlined part) as lower down you can see I lose a lot of torque and then it builds up again. Better exhaust i.e catback or decat (remebering backpressure is your friend), glanza s injector all I can think of really...Turbo? ;) I know a piggy back or standalone will help but thats a lot of cash to get setup and is it really worth it on a 1.3 N/A?... Not really.
pallett
heres a pic of it on the rr as you can see nothing changed under there completely standardbit of a change to how it looks now@ rich its strange how high your bhp is at the flywheel yet only 67 at the wheels mine got higher at the wheels that yours , 71,bhp, but over ten less at the fly.
