steven08
Hi everyone Just would like to share my EP85 (4WD) story with you guys. Am based in Mauritius and I am lucky enough to have found a 4wd starlet. So basically, the car already had a 4EFTE engine. Here is the car when I just bought it..... Did not personally like the green wheels, the front bumper and the square head lights. Next day, went to the breaker and bought the starlet GT front bumper, round head lights, rear bumper. Also bought some new rims. As for the tires, I have chosen the Bridgestone RE003 (Semi-slick) 195/50/15. Here is the new look: The engine was running fine for about a year. But one day while going to the nearby supermarket, I could see big white smoke coming out from the exhaust. And yes, one of the pistons broke! And this is when all the serious engine mods started...... On the same day, ordered the full engine forge kit which includes 74.5 wiseco pistons, scat rods, kings bearings, cometic head gasket, piston rings, etc Also decided to upgrade the turbo, manifold, intercooler, downpipe, etc. Bought all those stuffs from speedvision. Price and shipping costs were reasonable as well. So.... we pulled out the engine and it was really dirty inside. Spent a lot of time to clean the internal parts of the engine... Also had to buy a used engine head because the previous one was badly cracked. I guess that this is a common issue with the 4EFTE engines The gearbox was making a crunchy noise while going in 3rd. So, had to open the gearbox and replace the synchros. After the rebuilt, we were all excited to put the engine and gearbox back in the engine bay. Photos after the rebuilt.... And here we gooooooo........ I hope you guys enjoyed my small write up and the photos. Cheers

steven08
Top work! How are you finding its performance on that circuit? There were about 70 cars on that day.. Came out 2nd in my category (1300 - 1600 cc) and 8th overall. Handling is just amazing with the Mesiter R suspensions... Managed to beat some Evos and STIs on that day ;) Results below..... TRD
Nice bro. Always liked the 4wd GT turbo. 8th overall is very good. Slalom is the craze in sunny mauritius. Also keep up the updates. I drive a 4efte converted mini in mauritius 😅, my brothers car. Real fun. I have a 208 gti in UK. Still on the lookout for a decent 4wd starbo.P.s if you planning on selling the car, give me a shout.
