Ordered a Wepr ram style stainless manifold and de-cat when they had there October sale. Finally got the message today to say it’s on its way due to COVID slowing things down!

Looking forward to getting this fitted, looks amazing quality  😎

Boring update alert 😃

Got a few hours in today to start building the car back up.

Both front doors and mirrors reassembled.

Removed the drivers front wing again so I could get access to replace both door hinges due to the old ones having play causing the door to catch when closing.

Up to now the most stressful part of the respray has been trying to get hold of some new roof drip strips as the old ones were about an inch short and if I was to have used them again I feel it really would have let the car down.... my ocd kicking in probably 😂 unfortunately they are now discontinued at Toyota and nobody does them in the aftermarket. Eventually after searching Facebook and eBay i managed to pick some mint second hand ones up that fitted an absolute treat!

Got the windows finally put back in today. While they were out I also had them tinted and to be honest I’m not sure if I like them tinted or not now 🤦‍♂️

Hoping to spend Friday putting some more parts back on, really eager to get it back on the road now.

A big thumbs up from me.

This is something I'm getting gone as soon as I can get back on mine.

Thanks Sam, hopefully once it’s all built back up and in the sun it’ll change my mind.

No exciting updates other than it’s nearly all built back up other than waiting on a few trim clips then take it to work to mot it then start enjoying it again 😎8F7F3C15-6C9C-4306-84A5-B0B6ECFE7C18.thumb.jpeg.a124948c77e031e6eab5f3760c5fdecd.jpeg

Bloody hell thats one fresh glanza! One jealous man right here!

Thanks mate! I’m really chuffed with how it’s coming out now, starting to feel like the expense of a fresh paint job was worth it 😂😃

Had a shuffle through the stores at work looking at all our old diag equipment to see if we had anything that would communicate with the starlet... I stumbled across this old beast! The launch x431 that has the 22 pin Toyota adapter, proper blast from the past 😂

Needless to say it works perfect with the glanza and can access engine, abs and airbag for fault codes and live data 😃

Fresh update from the past week or so.
I removed the cam cover in preparation for sending to dean at RW developments for some AN fittings welding up and a catch tank.

Before I sent the cam cover away I decided to the remove the baffle to clean and remove the carbon build and to be quite honest it was fairly clean and did seem like a waste of time. But atleast I could be certain all the metal swarf had been removed after the AN fittings had been welded on. Fairly simple process really, Drill all of the baffle spot welds out to release the cover, then drill the holes about 10mm down and tap the holes out to suit m6 bolts. Then seal the cover back on, lock-tite the bolts in and I also tacked them with the welder for good measure and peace of mind 😂

I have also started to fit my wepr CT9 relocation manifold aswell. Up to now the manifold is fitted with new studs and nuts from tuning developments and the turbo mounted up to the manifold. Currently in the process of rerouting the intercooler pipe work due to the location of the turbo now the old short route pipe will not fit.

Them kits (manifold and catch tank) do look top quality.

 looking great.

Genuinely can’t fault the quality from both wepr and RW, I’m really happy with with it all

The hunt is finally over, wanted the oem rear strut brace since the day I got the car but never been able to find one that has all the covers. Definitely paid over the odds for it but I just couldn’t resist 😅 it’s in pretty much mint condition other than the markings that can been seen on the nearside cover

Very clean, nice work!  quite liking the window tints, make it look like front and rear windows are all one piece.

I've always wondered if those 22 pin toyota adapters would actually work, so perhaps I'll get one and give it a try one day

Thanks mate! I wasn’t to sure on the tints tbf, but now it’s fully built back up I couldn’t imagine it without them.

I personally don’t think those ‘eBay’ Toyota adapters would work with your general diagnostic machine unless it had the specific software on for starlets, but I could be wrong. As the only other way you could use it would be in eobd mode which unfortunately wasn’t brought in till 2000

Ahh, yeah that's what I thought might be the case. We have a Autel maxisys so maybe it can but I can't be sure, if I see one cheap enough I'll give it a try ✌🏻️

Treat the car to an ignition overhaul, oil filter change and set the ignition timing at the weekend.

new aftermarket coil pack, genuine distributor cap, genuine rotor arm, magnecore ignition leads and iridium spark plugs.
