Galliano
maybe there should be a new rule here now as there is alot of vandalism going around, we should ALL blank our numberplates in photosok, i may be over-reacting but it happens when someone posts a car here and theres "watchers" that arent signed up and can get details of each car using different things. i mean, its a long shot but maybe we should all take precautions to make sure our forum is safe.i know there have been alot of "my car has been vandalised/stolen" etc posts lately, so maybe this can get our ass in gear, also, maybe make the forum private, meaning those not signed in or registered can only veiw the forum rules or something, and then they need to sign up to veiw the rest, or after 1 post in newbies then veiw the forum, it may help us feel saferjust a few ideas to look into.Sam
Starletraje
good idea but it may not be easy. agree that theres a few too many glanza/gt's being hit just now for it to be coincident.someone stealing an ECU is not just smash and grab, thats pre-med. they had to know it was there
Starletraje
I dunno about you, but i CBA blocking my plate on every single photo i take/upload.I think my car was stolen, because they drove past and thought "yoink". If i had the slightest feeling someone saw it on paseoclub/tgtt/UKSC it'd be different. But who goes online, sees a scrap car and then goes to steal it, when they've got a perfectly good car next to it, knowing full well if they wait a month it'll have 6 grand of mods on it.True, but like i said. some of the strikes lately are just a bit too strange
4EFTE Sol
Too much info has already been shown though tbh
ste91
I didn't quite get what you meant at first so I had to read it again lolSo you think these people targetting Starlets know who they belong to and exactly what mods are on them?Makes sense but surely they'd have to have some way of knowing the exact address/location of them? Galliano
what i mean is P2D, its not only you being targetted as sparky got, ECU was taken, now why just randomly pinch an ecu.it may not be the club that is at fault, but maybe we need to take some safety measures
cheezeitthedog
I would say no matter what that sort of information is probably readily available although it cant hurt to protect your car. I know my immobilizer should stop my car being stolen although if they knew about the mods I'm sure they could lay their hands on some things. Also I do have the advantage of there being about 5 other cars in the driveway so even if someone targeted me I'm sure they would end up trying for one of the others. shelly_star
well not much you can do to protect your car, u just have to keep the information minimum on forums. If people would like to blank out their number plates in photos, you will have to take your own time for doing it to all your photos. Just be sure to have a good alarm on your cars too. Si@Fiske
i reckon it has to be someone/ a few people from inside the forums..
Sparky
My ECU wasnt taken But yea they must of knew it was a JAM one in the car to specifically steal it Although mine was done by local thieves as a few of my mates have been done this past week
Guest Enzo
well to start with ive stoped guests from viewing the majority of the forum, this should not stop anything really but every little helps.
