scutch0 Posted September 26, 2006 Share Posted September 26, 2006 well i had my first car stolen within two weeks of passing my test, so i got £2200 for my £1000 rust bucket of a corsa from the insurance company and set about getting a jap motor...i initially wanted a micra, or an oldskool mr2 mk1, but the insurance was too high on the mr2 and the micra was just too girly for me... and then i spotted a starlet for sale locally went down to veiw it drove it and wanted it!!!!it was everything i wanted and it was rare.i got laughed at when i turned up in college with my starly but i knew i loved the car because i didnt care what anyone said!!!when i first looked "starlet" up on google images i got a picture of a '99 white glanza and ever since then i knew i had to own one, one day!after 4 years of ownership of my na i took the plunge and forked out for a white '98 glanza and i FOOKING LOVE IT!!!!! i still think im kidding myself when i say i own a glanza v! ceriluke Posted September 27, 2006 Share Posted September 27, 2006 my first car was an old clio 1.2 this didnt have horse power it had hamster power, it sucked at evrything! people would overtake me as if i was driving in reverse! hills in that car were a constant battle through gears. one day i was goin up a big hill with a 60 mph limmit and my car was draggin so 2 old biddies overtook me in a daewoo matiz and wer lookin at me as if there was sumfin wrong wit me! afta the shame of that i popped in to a local import garage and took the GT out for a spin! frm there on there has been no more daewoo matiz passin me or a few other cars lol! I'm worse, when I leave the car I suddenly take X amount of photos at different angles like Page 3 lol, people wondering what the *%@$! is goin on heehee!Peace OutJozlol i know them feelings. i got a GT because for about 2-3 years id be cruising around with my sisters mates and boyfriend.i kept hearing dumpvalves and exhausts ect.. i couldnt get enough of it. i then got a escort cabriolet (influenced by sisters boyfriend).. then gradually started learning about cars better, join tgtt.com at the beginning of 2005.. learnt about jap cars then bought a GT in september 2005.ever since then i have become a jap enthusiast and will probably only ever buy jap cars as my modified car.i love jap cars ;) thats my story. I'd always quite liked the sr and after having done some research i decided to plum for one. After trawling the autotrader i found my SR it was 120 miles away but was a bargain not to be missed. The sr was perfect it has less power than the fez but it weighs over 130kilo less handles like a go cart, its lower tax and the best news was the insurance was half the fez thats got to be a winner!! once ive upped the power a bit i'll be very happy for the time being!!! (A long story)I bought a old Mercedes for an ICE project, that needed a rebuild.I needed a second car, while I was rebuilding the old Merc...So I got a Starlet EP91, in white, a litle funny looking car, hehe...Then i found YOU ALL (the UKSC) on the internet, and belive me YOU ARE ALL NUTS! HEHE!!!It was wild, everything you could do to a starlet, engine and exterior styling.So I sold the Merc after the rebuild and after a little ICE project.Then I sold the White Starlet, because I got bored of the white colour.And I bought my RED DRAGON, hehe, my red Starlet.So it was the UKSC that made me a starlet junky!!!! I’m too young to drive yet but still love Starlets.Well it started off with my cousin buying a 92’ Grey GT about 4 years ago, me and my bro laughed at the ‘ugly’ thing but when we sat in it we just found out how quick it was! (even though the ride was soo harsh with some track suspension which we hated)Anyway then my other cousin decided to buy a GT, got hold of a 94’ Black one < his brother got a purple sportif at the same time. And then my dad bought a 97’ Sportif in red lol about 2 years ago which me and my bro loved. My dad didn’t want to keep that car for my bro to have when he passed his driving test as he said its too quick for him! By now we was like what you could call the starlet family. Anyway my dad sold the red sportif and bought a 98’ 1.4 civic which he just parked up in the garden, waiting for my bro to pass his test. car was slow as shit, i got to sneak it out one lol but was very slow. Then I spotted the SR on ebay and forced my dad into buying it!!Now were loving it while my dads takes the piss out of the loud exhaust and wonders why we have an apexi filter to suck extra petrol.Oh yeah and my cousin up Scotland bought wylo’s n/a 2 weeks back!!And did I mention the other gt in the garden breaking for spares haha.. KellyGT Posted April 23, 2007 Share Posted April 23, 2007 When i use to spend every day at a jap garage surrounded my skylines and supra's etc a couple from Oldham turned up in their gt!! just luved the look of the car and the performance it was the first one i ever saw until i went JAE that yr and saw loads lol.A year or so later got one with my ex i learned to drive in it , was the first car i drove and my grin was huge when boy racers sat up my arse when i was learning with my L plates on!! lolanyway bad stuff happened and i was left with no GT, saved some money to pass my test and buy me and GT all of my own my lil greeny!!! and also was lucky enough that the site led me to meet Ben ;) Quote Link to post Share on other sites
