ABS

Hey,

Well i kinda assumed my Glanza would come with ABS but it doesn't seem to be there i'm not sure if it doesn't work or it isn't there.

Basically, how can i tell? Do some Glanza's come without ABS, on my boyfriends when he starts the ignition the ABS light comes on and you hear a pump noise which i don't seem to have in mine. I'm guessing by the fact the light doesn't come on i don't have it. It's just i want to find out 100% before i buy new brakes, i don't trust the previous owner to not have just pulled a bulb out of the dash if it didn't work after the whole trauma with my gearbox.

Easy...go stamp on the brakes and see what happens lol, if you lock and skid no abs if you judder and it try's not to lock abs

^^ what's said there is the easiest way to be honest.

But make sure have plenty of space (although tis obvious really)

look at the LHS of this pic, if u have ABS you will have these metal pipes running round the driver's suspension tunnel

All the ABS stuff on my GT is in the left hand front corner of the bay, must be the same for Glanza's?

Thanks! It does lock up hence me wondering whether it had ABS but it was just broken. Will have a mooch under the bonnet later on! Pretty sure it hasn't tbh but wanted to confirm before i buy some nice shiney discs! :P

theres also a marking on the rear window to say if the car has abs (but that could have been changed at some point)

Mine have stupidly dark, un sensible tints on them so you can't see anything like that..

Completely forgot about the big ABS unit.

In contrast to Si's pic, if you don't have ABS will have a big empty space like in this pic

just had a look at mine and it appears to be a sticker so it may have been removed when the tint was done

ABS on starlets is CRAP imo.

Yeh found out it should have it but doesnt work. its screaming for new discs and pads so going to get them uprates with3g's and green stuff pads and see what happens then
