88' Ep70 Tear-down & Re-build Thread

Right,we had this ready to be started but havent got around to it till yesterday so,

Here we go:

Work is being carried out by myself (Colin_Fitz) And Mike

Pics From The Beginning:

Car is being stripped and preped for a respray in the same colour but with more metal flake

Also the rear wiper/keyhole etc. are being flushed

17/08/09:

Car is in ready to be stripped

Started with interior

And found this in the rear driver side shock turret:

This was filled with fibreglass paste without any hardener so never went hard..

Havent got much done as we had a late start

The rear interior is out,rear window,side windows,wiper,seats,carpet & sound deadning is removed

*Rear wiper,"Starlet" badge,keyhole etc. all plated and ready for filler:

Today was also a slow day,

Tomorrow is going to be a long day,

Expected to have:

*All Windows Out

*Rubstrips,lights,grill,bumpers,mirrors etc. removed

*And hopefully have the engine ready to be pulled out..

Going for something a little different

After the respray will be putting on a gt disc rear axel,5Zigen Pro Racer System (Janspeed is too common)

and gt seats..

Hey mate nice build mate,

Are you by any chance based in cork in Ireland??,

It's just I remember seeing an ep70 like this in cork a while back, this looks like the same car and rims??

What are your plans for the engine side of things??

The Previous owner was from cork lad,

Got it off him and started working on it

damn this is gonna be a sweet project!!!

Toms wheels are sexual, really lookin forward to watching this project develop! all the best Colin!

Car would be nothing without the wheels.

Unfortunatly we were busy with other cars last night

But were planning to have everything plated tonight and everything stripped outside

this car looks amazing buddy! I've acquired one of these beautys on a c plate. am looking to do a 4efte conversion in it soon, once i've got got some of the other cars out of the way :thumbsup: .

will start up build up thread on it soon.

I think were going to go 4efe..

Do a bit of lightening ,sound proofing rear seats etc..

We done it in a mates 70

And its rapid for what it is!
