not being funny but i've been in the tuning game alot longer than this site has even been up and running, yet to get a poxy trader status its like going through an audition, goverened by some high and mighty policy, that doesn't apply to the same person who made it.

Sod it.

and what if all the traders are offering the same parts?? (thats a genuine question, i'm not being a wise-ass)

what i mean is, what would TBDevelopments bring to UKSC that Nick, Dave, Keith, Ricky, Monster and Geo dont already offer?? if Ricky offers members his manifolds, why would they order from a middle man?? again, PLEASE dont misinterpret this as cheek, my point is that these are the very questions that Enzo could ask you when discussing a Traders position.

If, on the otherhand, what you mean is that you want to offer particular services to members in a particular area of the mainland where there is an obvious need for a local EP tuner rather than driving 4hrs to reach Nick or Dave etc etc, then thats a different matter altogether. that wouldn't be so much a Traders account as an advert within the forum of services that you can provide to members in a particular area - physical services such as mapping, engine work, alignment, servicing etc etc as opposed to an online shop that distributes parts.

Phil.

A very fair comment, but most traders place large or frequent orders with us, with the extra buying power they can then sell on at the same price as I do for a single item as I obviously can discount them accordingly, and this is of cause only 1 area we work in, mapping etc is probably our main line of work to be honest.

To Tim, Good luck with TGTT i never even got a response on there haha.

I think he might have given up on it.

What I find stupid is not even being able to advertise the business in sigs or whatever. Not being able to trade is one thing as other traders will have more competition but not being able to advertise business is unhelpful to local Starlet owners who would have to travel hours for a Starlet specialist. Which we don't have in the West Midlands as far as I know.

I've seen Tim's work and it's top notch, and he does his own products for MR2's so it's easy to assume that he would be doing them for Starlets once he gets into it. It's not just some back yard bodge job workshop either.

ive just seen this post.

well not allowed to be a trader, not aloud to have a signature and not allowed to advertise!

because apparently i don't offer anything else that the other traders do (apart from location) yet the owner of the site starts up a shop that does exactly the same as everyone else without question. Sorry but this just seems like bullshit to me with one rule for one and one rule for everyone else!

first off none of my replys have been high and mighty, thats not me or what im about.

in my first reply to your pm i was polite and concise and gave you a valid reason and said trader applications are reviewed yearly in the month of april, and advised you to get in contact then, i never vetoed you as a trader i just told you what was was involved and when to get in touch,

those rules have been in place since then and in between that time ive had to knock back neumerous traders..

and in responce to advertising, , its not fair on the current traders who pay an amount only for you to advertise.

so just because you have been knocked back as a trader you have obviusly taken this personaly

Think i'll approach TGTT instead, i wanted to do this site because it seemed like a better place, guess i was wrong.

your full of shit.

just because i asked you to get in contact in april all of a sudden thsis site is worse for it, in if you feel that way you have just burnt your bridges

one rule for one, and then another for the rest. not the way i like to operate!

if thats aimed at me, ive been a trader on my own site for two years with no problems, other traders have come and gone so wise up!!!!

i've been in the tuning game alot longer than this site has even been up and running, yet to get a poxy trader status its like going through an audition, goverened by some high and mighty policy, that doesn't apply to the same person who made it.

whatever dude, around of applause for you. your ego is obviusly to big for this little site so jog on. find another forum that cares.

to others sorry if i seem annoyed but i was polite to this guy and tried to explain through pm, then i read these posts after all pm contacts.

Enzo is right dude, i tried to become a trader on here couple months back but there wernt any positions at the time to become one, and Enzo deffo wasnt nasty towards me about it...

We dont know you mate, so the mods are on here to protect us from being envolved in scams etc...

yes that did happen dude, i think it was Dan Evans that enquired.

like i said, at the end of the day its Geo's call, if he doesnt want anymore to give the current traders a stronger position then that is his decision to make, he has his reasons for the restriction to the number of traders on UKSC, we dont have as many as TGTT do, and the traders have been jiggled about on here in the last year or so, TC Trading are gone, as is Garage 786 (correct number????) and Geo has removed the Tong Turbos section (as he offers them himself now as an agent of T'Turbos), not to mention the removal of another certain trader who shall remain nameless lol!

so in Geo's defense, at least the traders spots on UKSC havn't sat stagnant for a long period of time.

Phil.

yes it was i phil lol

still wanting to do it but il hold fire until theres room lol

No need to get bummy because you got rejected, like Enzo said it looks like you just burnt your bridges. If you had waited til April you might have had hope but it's your own fault for throwing every bit of hope in the bin!!

seeing its "your site" your making out a certain amount of traders is a set thing, but its not its just some rule you've come up with yourself.

Anyway forget i asked, and ok maybe went off a bit when i shouldn't appologise for that, but its flustrating trying to get off the ground with something and getting knocked back at every turn!

dude, relax. it was nothing personal, there was no malice or ill feeling in Geo's refusal, as has been stated, you're not the only one to be turned down.

yes it is his site, and as such he is fully entitled to run it as he sees fit, and a certain number of traders is just his personal preference when it comes to the daily running of UKSC. it is not a personal attack on you that you're not good enough or anything, its just how he likes to manage his forum, and seeing as how he pays the bills he's fully entitled to do so.

you're taking it as if its personal...and it simply isn't.

and there's no point saying you're off to TGTT. I had diner with one of the main men on TGTT only two nites ago, and if you think you can simply waltz over there and get a traders position you're in for a shock! a serious shock! gettin a spot with TGTT will be alot harder than on here, trust me, he explained their application procedure and some of the history of applications and approvals and refusals. you think its gonna be easier then go right ahead, but, once again, Phil will have told you so.

there are members on UKSC that are loooooooooong standing and well established in the EP community, well trusted and well known that most of us admin know on a personal level and even they can't get a traders position right now. so please stop taking it so personnally before this turns into nothing more than a slag fest (which i always enjoy ever so much) and one of us lot has to flex our admin priviledges and lock the thread.

Phil.

no offence dude and i dont want no arsey/cocky comments back cause im just telling this for your good but everyone has seen this thread possibly and before this big argument happened i can safely saw a lot of poeple might have taken a look on your site. i know i did and i know many more have done so just for enquiring youve got your name out there and because of that people know who you are and what you do. just because this site has its own traders doesnt mean we use them all the time. so getting your name out there might have helped your business and got a lot of interest too

but if everyone else is like me seeing this (and please dont be offended by this) slightly childish reaction to being rejected "FOR NOW" kind of puts me off wanting to use your business. again sorry if you take offence to this but your putting across a bad working practise and this will be a put off to a lot of poeple

and whereas in april where you might have been succesful to becoming a trader it seems like all the bridges have been burned now by this reaction

just thought id put an imput in lol

see my point of view on this is that a limited amount of traders is just silly, yes by all means test and probation new traders to protect the member base from the amount of people out there, but more traders gives more options, varierty and competition pushes the development of new parts.

But i was told "no but we'll review it in april but won't be very likely". so lets face it shuts the door completely

just seems alittle short sighted as far as a business point of view as more trader would bring more money into the forum.

but hey like you said its his forum, his rules. And also, ok an overeaction but don't take that as a way i run my business, 9 years of tuning 3sgte's without a single customer complaint isn't a bad thing.

Guess i'll just have to open up my forum to starlets/glanza's and build the shop to stock the parts and see how it goes

ps mods i'd appchiate it if the thread was removed or atleast tidied up

"see my point of view on this is that a limited amount of traders is just silly" unfortunatly mate nobody cares about your point of view, its Geo's site and if he has 1 or 10 traders is upto him, i asked to be a trader long before you mate and i never spat my dummy out over it......

You havent been on here long, nobody knows you and your wanting to become a trader ASAP, build your reputation up like i am and then maybe in April you will be a trader, im waiting till then mate.. you have got more chance of shoving a whale up your arse then being a trader straight away so chill out..

thats one way of putting it Dan...subtle...like a wall to the face lol!!!!!

also, i dont see this thread being tidied up by any member of the admin team. what said has been said, its out in the open now.

Phil.

yes Phil, you know what im like lol. subtle as possible..

Haha :D Too late now.

The way i look at it is,yeah your the god of 3sgte's blah blah blah, any customer base on the FTE? Feedback ect? I wouldnt go near a trader if they didnt have prior feedback/evidence that they actually know there way around a starlet. Would have been better to build up a reputation on the site THEN come april you could have nudged Geo, saying since you've joined you've done this...this..and this. Remember ANYTHING can happen between now and April, there could well have been a space, especially if your as good with starlets as you are with the MR2's.....BUT you spat the dummy too early

He does know his way round the engines, he has a Glanza himself and has done work on a Glanza which I was there when it was done and I can assure you it was a proper job.

I think the main problem here is that hardly anyone has heard of TB Developments, it would be a shame to shoot it down especially for us lads in the midlands as we'd usually have to travel hours to a Starlet specialist whereas I can literally go 5-10 minutes down the road to Tim's workshop.

This isn't just someone who has came out of know where and trying to start up a business, he's been doing it for a long time and now wants to get into Starlets. I think everyone should take a step back to be honest.

ste - wana explain where exactly i need to step back here?? bearing in mind i'm the one that TRIED to talk to Tim only a matter of days ago about the situation and have tried to calm him down by explaining repeatedly that it was NOT a personal attack from Geo, simply a forum management based decision.

no one has said that Tim doesnt offer you guys in the midlands a port of call, the point on page two of this thread has been that the repsonse he gave since talking to Geo, by HIS OWN ADMISSION, may not have been the most mature of repsonses, and as such a number of bridges may have been burnt for no good reason, when in April he could have applied like anyone else. there was no need for this thread to go the way it did, and i believe, to Tim's credit, that he has realised that.

so please, i will sit back, fold my arms, and anxiously await your reply. come tell me where i need to back off please.

Phil.

You've taken that a bit too seriously mate I was talking in general. Nothing aimed specifically at one person.

All this "burnt bridges" stuff is nonsense. From an outsider's point of view it just looks like a bad case of crossed wires to me.
