ktl Posted August 2, 2011 Author Share Posted August 2, 2011 2 months later - I did an Open pit lane down at Brands Hatch 2 weeks ago.Which than 2 days later due to a headgasket failure. Stock HG are prone to going yet i still put it in my forged build and im pretty shocked it lasted all this time. But it was going to go at 1 stage and glad it did at Brands.I've cleaned her up,skimmed the head, repainted the front of the block. Brought these for the re-build upSaturday got the engine back in and managed to get her working yesterday Quote Link to post Share on other sites

shorty Posted August 15, 2011 Share Posted August 15, 2011 athena+arp ftw!!! also beware of oil coolers it is posable to run the oil to cold wich isnt good for the engine either. that said i assume as its a mocal kit its got a built in thermostate?? you will notice with the athena the overall temps of the egine are lower anyhow due to all the waterways being used so keeps the engine at a much better temp allround.
