abbott
after 5 months of looking for a s14a and looking at 3 cars i ended up buying a s14 in september 2009.1st things was to give the car a good clean and fit some s14a rear lights which i bought.then the next weekend took her out for a drive and the manifold to turbo gasket started blowing  so strip down on a sunday loL!on monday ordered a new gasket and locking bits from apex. They turned up on tuesdaychanged the front 25mm spaces to 15mm spaces due to the front catching the arch. bought a nismo gear knob off ebay. also put some new tyres on the front to.also changed the rear cloth seats to leather still to find some decent fronts.well then it was the middle of october took my car out for a drive on a saturday night with friends and was running sweet. the next day tho got up and went outside to let the car warm up and noticed the was a loud noice sort of sounded like a fan belt so tuned straight off because it sounded bad. phoned my friend got him to come and have a look and checked things couldnt find nothink so we started it again and it was fine, so i said to him i will be out later. Later came started and the noise was back and oil light was up so once again turned straight off phoned my mate and said got a oil problem no oil to the top end. So after thinking what to test i desided to get the engine out and strip down to find the problem. big thanks to mr mdub for giving a hand.engine on the stand and stripped back finding that the oil pump had had it and nick looked over engine and there was no damage only to oil pump will add pics hen i take them.well people who know me know that i like a clean engine bay so i desided to get the bay sprayed in gloss black at my mates work.Got her home and gave a clean and started to put things backAfter all that i desided to make a custom dash gauge pod. At the time Nash was making his at mine so he said you should do yours and thought i already have enough to do. well building began.next thing i wanted to do was fit my boost controller where the ash tray was so a bit of cutting had to be done.then it was off to be black flocked big thanks to stiggy off driftworks :thumbs:all fitted back in the car with my defi link gaugesAnother thing which i thought i would have a play about with to be a little different was stripping the lights down and spray part of them black. Thanks for the help Nash only one done in photoHad my rocker cover powder coated and bought a few parts.thanks henners for sorting out a good price on the oil pump :thumbs:cleaned and painted a few things up sat 23rd jan 2010 nismo Nick from TKS tuning came up and built the engine back up thanks again nick. The next day time to clean and paint the engine the followng day time to fit the others back on.last week my brother under sealed the tunnel ready to put engine and box in.sat 30th jan time to get engine in and start putting it together. This week ordered all my oils, coolant hoses ect and had a egt bung welded in the elbow, also front bumper sprayed and number plate removed, all run in now and running well 352bhp 350 torquePics to follow

Well 3 weeks ago i dropped my car down to Peter at Sumo Power for some work.Work being done: re do rear aches roll and flaire to fit my wheels when i lower it more as the rear quaters and roof was being sprayed as i didnt want a blow in ive had the arial removed and also had a new wind screen fitted as had a little crack in it.yesterday picked the car up and am very happy with the work they have done and recomend any one who wants work doing they are a great company to deal with. any way heres the pics after a good clean after the rain yesterday driving back. Time for a update of what ive been doing. Since having my archs done in October ive not driven my car so in December I decided to strip the back end down and underseal the car and get every think clean as wanting it looking fresh and new.so from there i decided to strip things down and the list started off what i wanted to do PaintingHubsdriveshaftsdiffbrakesPowdercoatingSubframelower armstraction rodscamber armstoe armstow bar and a few other small partsOther stuff to doGrind back surface rust spots and zinc prime rust protectorprep work undersealing clean all bolts ready for zinc coating.Stuff to order Driftworks Subframe poly bushsDriftworks solid diff bushsDriftworks rear lower poly arm bushsApex new ball jointsWhiteline rear anti roll bar (powder coated a differant colour)from there i got stuck in, sripped and got ready to get cleaned up and get a couple of coats of paint on.Started cleaning the bolts and nuts one by one on the bench wheel grrr took a while.all clean and ready go to zinc coaters and have been dropped off and should receive them back next week Subframe stripped before bushs had been removed and has been sent off to Willow powder coating last week to get Shotblasting, etch primed and powdercoated and should get back soon. Then cracked on putting the new lower arm bushs in and ball joints, which i can say were a bloody nightmare having to do modifications to the driftworks bushs but got there in the end and with a bit of false the arms got bolted up in place. From ther on got every think bolted back together and happy the way its looking. Next is to poly bush the front and powder coat some more bits and get the anti roll bars fitted.Big thanks to Nash and penfold giving me a hand  cheers fellasheres the pics of todays and yesters workcar as it stands at the moment, had a right nighmare taking the front apart where every thinkwas solid and not moving.cleaned and painted the hubsnext was to take the old bushs and ball joints out the lower arms. The bushs i got the blow touch out and set them on fire and scraped all the rubber out as the outer sleeve had to be left in for the new bushs to work.cleaned all my bolts which i took off ready to be zinc plated all the bits ready to go off to the powder coaterslower armsbraces traction armsanti roll bar U bracketsbrake line bracketsfront and rear anti roll bars (Not pictured)So dropped them off yesterday with the bolts. So I have been trying to find some but had no luck. But this week i noticed Apex were doing a group buy on poly bushs in black as a car set, so gave them a call and Kev sorted me out with some black poly drop link bushs which will look better and go more with what im doing BIG THANKS TO APEX! they turned up wednesday.I had to buy some new supension bolts which bolt them to the hub as there others where not re-useable. What a joke on price from NissanOn thursday i picked up my bolts from the zink platersand i got home that night and decided to strip the front subframe off and drop it to the powdercoaters and drop some more bolts to the zinc coaters.front was half done last year when engine was being done.so just a few things to sort this time but im finding things day by day that i want to do. Nash kepstelling me to stop other wise it wont be back on the road lol!Anyway another update picked up my powder coated bits today and im very happy once again so im just waiting on the front subframe to come back next week and can start going back together.Ordered some super pro poly bushs from sumo powerthen friday back to the powder coaters to collect my front subframe and zinc coaters for my subframe boltssaturday was time to fit all the parts back on the car every think back together and back on the floor heres a pick of the rear end all togetherso went out and road test it tonight to make sure its good for sumo power tomorrow and on testing it i had a loud knocking noise coming from the rear coilover so took it straight to my mates garage and found the top mount bearing is worn so took it home . so looks like im going to be ordering some new coilovers now as the the spex ones have had it and are worn out.well on monday 7th got on to the phone to Sumo Power and ordered a set of BC BR coilovers spring rates 6/8 Thanks Dan at Sumo.
