Amjad
Are any of these sufficient for CT9 @ 1Bar?MBC 1MBC 2MBC 3MBC 4Not really looking for anything special, just wanna make boost a little more stable!ThanksAmjad
Raffi
I have tried a turbosmart manual boost controller/ bleed valve. And it didn't make my boost stable. The only thing it did, was make my turbo spool up later. And the boost was all over the place. The manual ones are not worth a penny.Save up some cash and buy a digital one.
Amjad
A lot of people have said a MBC will be fine for now, maybe you bought a dodgy unit?
shorty
tbh i had an unbranded one on my hybrid setup few years back, worked a treat, only cost a tenner lol
nazzurro19
nah they are shite when i picked the car up the previous owner said the car had boost problems and he had tried the mbc several times to make it right i brought the car drove to halfords took the mcb out put a small hose from the acutator bk and the car was runnin fine
Mike_trx
I have to agree from personal experience on my own car, a manual boost controller or bleed valve didn't agree with my glanza at all...the car bogged down in low revs, took longer to come on boost, it was never happy at a certain boost pressure as it was up and down constantly! In the end I took it off and got an hks actuator to replace it and my weak standard one, much better job but still not perfect, an electronic boost gauge is definatley the way to go. DavidAshton
Controlling a stock ct9 is a challenge for most ebcs, mbcs are pointless on a ct9, tried and tested boost creeps like a bitch so you have to set it low and let it creep to your desired boost. It works this way but you loose the low down kick of a ct9 which is the only point running a ct9 imo.I'm using a gizmo ebcs and even then it'd not perfect, have to set it lower and let it creep still but only by .1 bar. Before I ran. aboost controller I just set boost off my actuator. It performed same as my mbc so why not just set boost off 6our actuator for now?
tommykite
@ DavidA Have ya ported your waste gate?? I was thinking about getting a Gizzmo controller, The MS2 with built in timer...Cheers Tom
Amjad
Hmm that's a good point. I'll see how it goes when I fit the new decat, boost gauge and go from there!Looks like te Apexi AVCRs are the best so if I buy an EBC it'll be that one
DavidAshton
Yeah my wastegate is ported to the max.
Sparky
See, you get what you pay for I'd try a cheapy one though if I was you whats it cost about 20quid, if it dont work just save for an AVCR
DavidAshton
If you really want to try an mbc I have a race spec one off eBay floating about my glovebox. You can have it for the cost of postage.
Amjad
Weird!Yeah Dave that'd be awesome mate thanks! Would I need to buy anything to fit it?

Starlet__SR
I ran one on my C20LET before I really started modifying it, was terrible, never boosted to a constant pressure, just didnt feel right, so like alot are saying I just set mine off the actuator till I went for a proper electronic controllerDay

Omar
Did anyone use a Hallman Manual Boost Controller? I was thinking of getting a MBC but from what you guys are saying an adjustable actuator is better for the cheap route but the EBC is best.
