To get a classic policy you have to be of a certain age (according to car type), it usually has to be a second car and has to limited to a certain mileage per year.

If it was as simple as just ringing up a classic broker and get a cheap policy everyone would do it.... and I've tried :p

For instance, my mx5 can get a classic policy on it BUT i have to be 25, it be my second car and mileage is limited to 5k a year max.

On the other hand at 21 you can get a Beetle (old school one) as a second car with much higher max mileage, all depends on the car really.

i had my GT on classic insurance before it is possible

and its my ONLY car not a second car with 10,000miles a year

but the thing you have to remember is with classic car insurance you dont get no claims bonuses building up so it can be a pain in that respect!

^ can i ask which company u was insured with please ?

i still need to ring classic insurance! lol

Might have to look into this...

I will be soon getting a van for work an as a daily so the GT will not be driven as much, actually looking into taking GT off road for abit to give it a good sort out..

I was gonna look into limited mileage as i wont be driving it every day once van is on road so a classic insurace should help me...
