Police & Young driver/souped up cars

Recommended Posts

well over here we get a lot of hassle with police and young drivers/souped up cars

and becuase they dont have an insurance databsae over here, everytime you get stopped you have to take a copy of your insurance up to the police station. it turns into a proper pain in the arse

also they stop you all the time for a break light out or whatever, you then have to fix it and take it to the police station in very specific hours.

between 8-9 and between 1-2. not really times that fit in well with the working day, if you dont work next door to the police station

so my mate wrote a letter of complaint to the head, and tried to explain our side of the story. it got a small write up in teh local paper

feel free to have a read here.

he has also organised a meeting with all us young drivers/modified drivers tomorrow.

will be interesting to see what comes of it.

ps, if you wanna comment on that online article feel free, just try to keep it articulate

fair play to your mate its the same over here you get the people like us who spend alot of time and money on our cars and drive sensabial and then you get the idiots who drive round like cocks gives every one a bad name so the police pic on us all im sure if some one over here done that we would end up getting picked on even more till they found summing to fine you for lol

the thing with the whole brake light thing etc is its obvious that we care about our cars, so if you have a light out etc you are going to change it as you dont want your car to look crap.

the only reason you used it in the first play would of been cause you didnt know.

they also pick on you for insurance, but i have got everything declared, and to be honest i find it offensive when they see im a yoing driver and presume i wont have modifications declared.

just hope this chat makes a difference

thing is see it from their side, un insured drivers are more offten than not young lads in souped up cars who either dont have insurance or have a bogo policey wich is void as the mods ect arnt declared. if you where a cop how would tell the difference?

copper; "oh that lads car is clean and looks like he spunked aload of dosh on it im sure he is uptodate with valid insurance?"

two seconds later the lad runs an old lady down she dies the family get no compensation to cover funeral costs or whatever

copper; "opps guessed i should have stop checked him"

its not an easy job and because you are all yong and get tared with the same brush you moan but if one out of twenty cars they stop dosnt have insurance and the driver is prosecuted then thats one less twat who is going to effect your policey if he smahed in to your car or worse still ran down your nan!

my mrs family are all old bill, they loved my enthusiasm for the glanza and think my ep85 is just as cool, they love cars and one is a bike nut. uninsured drivers dont have a neon sighn above them otherwise thier job would be alot eiser and and we wouldnt get targeted for being young lads in nice cars. best bet is build a good relationship with the police and invite them to atted the meets/cruises you organise, once they see the cars/faces and know your legit then the hassle you get will lessen.

peolpe with the fuck the police attitude rarely have a clue just how damned hard thier job is due to the shit they get from public ect and the crappy red tape and paper work involved in any thing they enforce!!

no, but when they aer doing it repeatadly, eg once a month

and want to see it each time. i suppose the theory is you could have canceled it in the mean time. but i dont know, its very annoying

and yes, the fuck the police attitude we are trying to change, but having a calm chat with them. rather than talking about it in the heated environment of having just been pulled over

when i started to drive i was getting pulled constantly and always had everything checked everything was always in line.

its got to the stage now if the traffic drive past and see i have a light out the just pull up next to and just make sure i no its out then just drive off only time i

ever seem to get any checks now is if its 2 new coopers that dont no me.

everytime ive been pulled ive always been friendly and helpful with the details of ma car since most seem to think its some form of corsa . and its paid off tbh i have mates that like to be as cheeky and try push there luck and it just comes back to kick them in the nuts.

ive been caught doing some pretty stupid shit and they have just warned me not to do it again and sent on my way. then my mates will drive past with a sidelight out and they will be stuck there for an hour while every inch of there car is checked over and all there details are taken because they decided to get mouthy last time they were pulled

best way dude, is how I've always acted with them when i been pulled and I've had a good chat with a few of them about cars, and tuning ect. they are just people doing a job same as you and me dude. invite them along to the meets and show them about the cars explain what mods do what and just have a good chat with em, im sure they will see where you guys are coming from then

Could tell I had the muppets follow me in my completely standard sr in a blacked out vectra last night, what would they actually achieve of pulling a 1.3 doing a couple of miles over 30 over? The 4efe seems to kick in about 30mph so its hard for me to stay at precise national speed limit. Once he clocked that I'd noticed him he buggered off after following me for about 4 minutes.

i used to get stopped in the ep85 for having no mot. It had a valid mot was just a error on the database at vosa end. Most of the police were alright when they pulled me apart from the ones at services who said "lucky you got it with you otherwise you were getting a fine" sitting there saying that as he had the sheet in his hand to give me a fine.

All i can say is most of the time there okay, some of them are wankers, policemen themself say some of them are wankers to us young drivers. Just remember there doing there job and if you give them some respect them might give you some back!

well we went there

and they showed us a wrecked nismo skyline, that had crashed at triple figures on a residential road

http://www.thisisguernsey.com/2011/07/15/w...oung-motorists/

also showed us photos and videos of fatal crashes, and interviews with local firemen/ambulance crews

and the mother of one 17 year old who died in a fatal crash involing an escort and a plusar crashing head on at ~80mph.

then we had a question adn answers with the sergent, and asked about tints/exhaust/carrying insurance docs/police attitidues/random checks etc

he was an ok bloke, and hopefulyl its improved relations
