Ryan A
Ive done it to my m8s ford escort and we had to depreassurise the fuel system and we did this by taking out a fuse then startin the car up until it died due to no fuel pressure, But i dont know which fuse it is in the starlet na. Can anyone help? Thanks very muchRyan
Ryan A
Dont really need to do that, you can take the cap off the fuel flap, dunno if that makes a diffrence though Its only a wee bit of fuel that pisses out anyway Ok thanks will give it ago and report bkRyan

ste91
Digging up old threads here, but just want to double check before I go spraying petrol everywhere - Is it ok to just do the "take the filler cap off" method? Or do you need to take the fuse out and get it out of the system?
Starletraje
emm... take the fuel filler cap off... how did i manage to accidently drive 15 miles with it off once if it kills the engine?
Tintin_SR
bud i think that there meaning that when you take the fillet cap off it lets a bit of preacher out of the system, or thy mean just take the top connector off the filter
NightSpirit
Never done a fuel filter on the EP..did it on a 306 TD and done it on the Jag loads of times..never needed to do anything other than whip off cover to filter, remove filter, replace filter...bolt up and drive. NightSpirit
It's not a tricky operation..so no need to over complicate it If you set yourself on fire or blow up, I never said anything right? ;)
WallaceGlanza
Taking the fuel cap off will just release the pressure in the fuel system so it doesnt spray out when you undo the first bolt, instead with the cap undone it will just be a pathetic dribble like an 86 year old man at the urinal.;)

Nice precise description there. ;)
