Enigine Mounts...Hard Job?

Recommended Posts

Its not to hard pal same as everything it depends on how competent you are,

1) Slightly loosen all engine mounts while its grounded (to stop car rocking in step 4)

2) Get the front up on axle stands

3) use jack to hold up engine

4) finish undoing the first engine mount

5) replace rubber with poly and reassemble

Repeat steps 3-5 on the rest

to get the rubber out people use all different methods some burn/melt it out and some us a drill and a hack saw

Good Luck

remember, after getting out the rubber, ull have to take out the rings also or the powerflex rubbers wont fit in.. after that its simple... each mount rubber comes in 2 halfs so slots in either side of mount, then just insert pin...

i just cut out both engine mount rubbers with a hacksaw blade but had to burn out the gearbox mount rubber.. to cut out the rings, just cut through in 2 places and they will fall out

Have to say is a damn sight easier to saw the old collars out when the mount is held in a vice but can still be done without one tbh.

I did two of them in a vice and the back gearbox on the car. I mite be rough but i sawed so much then used a hammer and chisel to knock it out!

Cheers guys.
