funny onion
I'd say its running lean. Get a wideband on it. Is the ecu mapped to your car?
grimr3ap3r_
Nahh Kate it's plug and play, it's fine after 2.5 k and it sounds healthy it's just like there's no boost or spool and then it's thereIt's fine when warmThanks in advance mateMate*
funny onion
The only thing "plug and play" about an ecu is the ability to plug the standard looms straight into it really. I wouldn't dream of plugging an ecu In my car without knowing what map was on it. That's just me though. Mine used to suffer from this on an external wepr kit. It was hesitant at a certain point in the rev range and then it would start pulling. Had it at race tech and the problem was it was running drastically lean. New plugs/ignition overhaul, then if it continues to do it then get a wideband on it and check afr.
micky boy
Dont boost untill its warm I always warm my car up untill the choke comes off so i've never come across that problem lolAs for the idle hunting mine dose this every now and again and im also runnig a Blitz ecu! Not sure if its just the map on themHow bad is the hunting on tick over? mine just pulses up and down ever so slightly! every now and again Edited October 31, 2012 by micky boy
grimr3ap3r_
The hunting isn't bad to be honest I can live with itI only boost when warm but like if it's not full temp seems to do itI'm gonna change what I said above and get the furling checked I got a rrfpr anyway so hopefully be an easy fix really want it sortedThanks for the heads up yall really appreciate it (y)
funny onion
Yeah it won't be anything massive, don't panic about it. Ignition overhaul and if it persists take it to a tuner like tuning developments or race tech or rdt and get someone to check it on the rollers. Your ignition timing may be slightly out or something daft
grimr3ap3r_
Sound mate I'll let you know how I get on
AdamB
Coolant temp sensor can do this. Swap it for a known working one with someone close by or something mate
funny onion
Also clean air temp sensor on the inlet, can't hurt mine was covered in crap and it idled loads better after I cleaned it
H_D
very unusual if it runs lean.Plug and play ecus are ment to run a lil rich
Amjad
Did you let it idle for about 20mins when you first plugged it in?

corofin12345
doesnt sound like a ecu problem at all.. probably your ext/wastegate sticking when cold... as for the hunting.. all these plug and plays idle differently as ive found out.. each p&p ecu i put in my car i had to adjust to suit.. the jam ecu comes down the revs very fast after reving so if the ICV isnt clean it will hunt.. the blitz seems to be slower coming down the revs but it still has the same issue when trying to find the idle.. id clean the sensors mentioned above... CTS, ATS and clean the ICV when your at it... might be worth while cleaning the lambda too if you can get at it..
grimr3ap3r_
I left it running for Hal hour when i plugged it inIt's only when it's cold I'll clean the above mentioned, is te coolant temp sensor the one on front of the thermo?Just got a dizzy and rotor from Toyota and my plugs and leads should be here tomorrow off CamskillThanks for all the help guys
grimr3ap3r_
The hunting is minor really I'm more concerned about the car holding back from 1.2 to just under 3k when cold then it smacks me in th face with boost and takes offIf the wastegate was sticking how can I check this or what would I have to do to rectify it? grimr3ap3r_
To be honest I anticipate it being the plugs leads or dizzy I had the car setup and running for 3 days fine, had it valated and that's when the problem started don't know of some waters got in somewhere or something but where the king lead plugs into the dizzy there is a lot of corrosion so worth changing anyway
funny onion
Be careful! Mine was exactly the same And when the king lead was pulled out the pin stuck in the dizzy and chewed it. New dizzy hahaha
