Ngk iridium, pre-gapped?, edit: pop/bang on boost, help?

mines are gapped at .6 but i would of though .8 would b ok, 1.1 not too big?

I was gonna say, checked mine and they are deffo below 1.1mm

NGK bkr7eix iridium's have a factory gap of 0.8mm and bkr7eix-11 have a gap of 1.1mm.

You want the largest gap possible without blowing out the spark.

Should I be widening the gap then? What does that achieve?

A wider gap gives a stronger spark, only if its not blowing out.

I would start at 1.1mm, if you get a missfire under load, ie uphill 4th gear. Then gap it down to 1.00mm and so on.

Factory spec = standard gap

Modified = custom gap till the car is happy

I will misfire, mostly higher up the rev range at full boost.

Hence people running bigger tubbys are wanting a coil pack setup which provides a stronger more stable spark especially at the upper rev limit

Ah right so should I widen them to say 0.9 or 1mm to be safe?
