Sefton-EP91 Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 When I let the engine run down mainly in low gears for example 1st or 2nd and sometimes 3rd. my exhaust pops. Does this suggest that it's over fuelling? What else does this suggest? Thanks in advance for any help. Quote
MARC MOSS Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 It's a bonus, mine pops all the time and sounds amazing lolSaying that I would probably give a completely different reply if I was sober mate it's been a very long night and it's still going Quote
AdamB Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Whats your mods?If its running standard boost then you have an issue. If your running a FPR then it will be ok, although not ideal. Quote
Sefton-EP91 Posted January 1, 2013 Author Posted January 1, 2013 I am running standard boost,My mods are: FPR, FMIC, relocated air filter. All the other mods are not engine related. Quote
AdamB Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 No need for a FPR if your running standard boost, does it have a gauge? What pressure is it reading?Standard fuel pressure is 2.3/2.4 bar. Quote
Sefton-EP91 Posted January 1, 2013 Author Posted January 1, 2013 I will have a look when I go to the car, It was fitted when I brought the car. I have thought about roving it. Do you suggest I remove it? Quote
Jack-CTR Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 (edited) Id suggest turning the boost up ;pexhaust etc first ofcThen emanage blue and boost.up ;) Edited January 1, 2013 by Jack-CTR Quote
Sefton-EP91 Posted January 1, 2013 Author Posted January 1, 2013 Could it suggest the ring lands are going? It's probably bit to early to know but could this be signs? Where is the ECU on the Glanza? Behind the glovebox? Quote
akyakapotter Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 (edited) Nothing wrong with a bit of popping I try to make mine do it tap the the throttle on over run popping FTW Edited January 1, 2013 by akyakapotter Quote
Sefton-EP91 Posted January 1, 2013 Author Posted January 1, 2013 ^^ lol yeh I know it's nice but not normal I just want it to run nicely! It does it all the time in 1st and second and sometimes in 3rd! I must admit its nice but just want it to drive how it should Quote
AdamB Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 If you wish to turn the boost you'll need a fcd or some form of aftermarket ecu. The stock ecu is behind the glovebox, check behind their for a fcd as well. Quote
Sefton-EP91 Posted January 1, 2013 Author Posted January 1, 2013 I have checked the readings on the FPR, at idle its was reading 64 psi which is around 4.5 bar :s and I thought this cant be right so switched off the car and the gauge still read 20 psi. I am now confused surly it doesn't hold pressure when switched off? Or do I just measure the difference between 20 psi and 64 psi which is 44 psi. Can you guys tell me anything about these readings? Quote
akyakapotter Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 They usely read a little they it will go to 0 with a min or so Quote
Sefton-EP91 Posted January 1, 2013 Author Posted January 1, 2013 Oh right I must admit I just assumed it would stay there and just left it to that No need for a FPR if your running standard boost, does it have a gauge? What pressure is it reading?Standard fuel pressure is 2.3/2.4 bar.If standard fuel pressure is 2.3/2.4 bar why is mine reading nearly 4.5bar :s (assuming it does drop to zero) that just seems WAY to high for a V running standard boost and surly unsafe/causing more damage? Quote
AdamB Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Your asking the wrong person mate lol. Thats wayyy to high and no doubt you have pretty poor low down performance. Set the pressure to 2.5 bar and see how it goes, itdoes need to be checked on a wideband by a tuner ideally. Quote
little dave Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 My first v done what u have it's turns out the guy I got it off had a td04 set up and fitted it back to standard and left it to high then fucked around with it. The drive home I did £30 to 40 miles it just kept chucking out flames if it was me I would fuck it off for the min and just get it back to norm then maybe up boost mate Hope this helps Quote
Sefton-EP91 Posted January 2, 2013 Author Posted January 2, 2013 I am not planning on upping the boost anytime soon I just want the car to run normal lol if I turn the nut on top of the FPR will this adjust the pressure? I will just turn until its back to 2.3/2.4 bar.. Is that correct? Quote
Sefton-EP91 Posted January 2, 2013 Author Posted January 2, 2013 If I get rid of it where do all the pipes go :s or is it just a case of Removing the pipes aswell, I assume its just sat on a t piece? Quote
akyakapotter Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 If you have the standard fpr bud it's just a case of refitting that and one pipe to the return and one vac line I believe. Quote

Is that correct?Thats correct, turn the nut on top with the vacuum hose disconnected and the engine running at idle.Does it have any brand name on the regulator at all? Sefton-EP91 Posted January 2, 2013 Author Posted January 2, 2013 Unfortunately I only have the items that are fitted to the car, as I brought the car how it is. Can I not just adjust the FPR back to the standard pressure? Quote
Sefton-EP91 Posted January 2, 2013 Author Posted January 2, 2013 No brand Unfortunatly it just a cheap one by the looks of things. I'm going to do that Adam then ill feed back with what happens. Quote
Sefton-EP91 Posted January 2, 2013 Author Posted January 2, 2013 I did think that aswell because that just seems way to high to be true yet it could be true. So I need another method of checking it. Anyone got any ideas? Quote
akyakapotter Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Chuck up a pic of the one you have on at the moment mate Quote
