Gauge Readings

Hi! I was not too sure if this post belongs in fueling/ electronics or engines so i just put it here.



What should my gauges be reading??



Oil Temp


Oil Pressure


Fuel Pressure


wideband



Both on cursing/ easy driving and hard driving, say "W.O.T" wide open throttle for the wideband.



I am using a speedvision hybrid, power up kit, walbro pump and JAM ecu.

Most oil at 120 degrees starts breaking up the particles. Anything over 115 degrees you should be looking at changing the oil to a thicker grade or get an oil cooler.

Im sure Toyota recommend 1 bar every 1000rpm.

That depends dramatically on the oil you use...

And is a reason why you should spend more on oil to prevent exactly that...

Majority of decent oils wont break down till you get over 135-140....

Death in summer, Ive never seen higher then 128-129.... Having a civic rad helps oil temps dramatically. (Airflow to the turbo core, engine)...

And stock fuel pressure is 2.4 Bar?



Oil pressure should be initially high 55psi and start to lower as the engine gets warmer...

Sounds very rich this... I know the plug and play ecu's all run slightly rich anyways.

As 14.7:1 is ideal and lower is rich and higher Is lean.

10:1 is very rich ... I'd expect something around 13:1/13.5:1 with the JAM ECU

II could install a Sard fuel pressure regulator, and adjust the pressure to change this.. But what would my ideal readings on the wideband be?


Are these ideal readings the same for all glanzas regardless of the turbo?

True, but what are the chances of an oil manufacturer releasing such data of their products?

Plus once an oil has been overheated once, its properties are never the same thereafter.

WHAT? 13.5 is mega lean for a turbo! anything above 12 on boost will be lean!

11.5 on wot is what id be going for plus its safe at that, 13s is way way too lean

Oh really? Hmm I didn't take the turbo into consideration.. Well you learn something new everyday.

So for an N/A 13s would still be slightly rich? But on a turbo it would be considered lean?

The AFR debate goes on lol.



Turbo motor produces best peak torque with an AFR 11.4-12.2


N/A Motor AFR 11.9-12.8



AFR means nothing when tuning for maximum performance anyway, as you will adjust the AFR to suit maximum ignition advance as possible throughout the entire rev range.
