Holding back

Working on a mates car and seems to be holding back wen boosting. Anyone had this same fault ?? Thanks

fueling? has it just started doing this? or have you changed somthing and then it started

Ihad this just before my car died.. Not saying this will happen lol.. Checked leads? Dizzy etc?

Na it's just started to do this it's really werid like. But I will give the fueling a check and ignition

Boost leak ? Check intercooler pipes, joiners for splits, tightness etc.

She does boost just rev seem to be holding back

Mine has just started doing this, i went out an hour ago to pick brother up and its boosting but doesnt feel like it wants to go so had a quick look under the bonnet for anything obvious but couldnt see anything it was abit smokey though, will have another look tomorrow when its light

Anyone no what this could be?

if your on the stock fuel pump and have turned up the boost I would change to a 255lph fuel pump it could be packing up

Its mapped by td at 1bar on td04

could be a problem with injectors as it sounds like a fuel problem not a boost problem

do you have a wideband ?

Thats what i was thinking and no i dont have been looking for some gauges but keep missing them

if your running 1 bar on a td04 best way to know what your cars doing is a wideband

Arw they hard to wire in?

no but you will need a bung welded in your exhaust for the oxygen sensor

May have to order 1 of them wheb i get paid then looking at getting oil temp and pressure water temp and fuel pressure gauges aswell

If it was injectors would i be able to put bigger 1s in or would i have to get it mapped again then? I still have standard injectors

Well im not driving up to td again its bout 200miles away lol will just put standards in again i think

u can pick up another standard set for next to nothing even cheaper than flow testing the 4 you already have, and to be fair if your running 1 bar on td04 stocks will be ok

but I would advise getting a wideband first to get some idea of whats going on inside

So i have finally got a wideband gauge in today to see what the problem is as ots still there but im not sure how it should be acting has anyone got any videos?

It seems to be around 15 on idle but does go up and down a little

Also when putting my foot down it goes right round to 10 and stays there and then well i let off it goes right around to red and doesnt read anything???

10 seems a bit rich, thats maybe why its holding back,

when u lift off it its supposed to go full lean, so thats fine

10.0 or 10. something? Ideally you want to be aiming for around 11.8:0 on full chat.
