FreedomCore Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 (edited) Does anyone know if there are any rear struts for N/A's that wouldn't require trimming or removing the trim? If none, then minimal trimming. So far ive looked at a few different Cusco's and a Ultra racing one. The Ultra Racing one looks most promising. Edited February 28, 2013 by FreedomCore Quote
Guard1an Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I believe Greddy one requires no trimming, not sure if it fits UK N/A model. Quote
FreedomCore Posted February 26, 2013 Author Posted February 26, 2013 I saw that one. The only problem is that the bolts on the top mounts are reversed on the N/a. I sadly discovered this after buy a Glanza 3 point strut. Quote
StarletSr? Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 There is trimming involved with ultra racing ones. Quote

FreedomCore Posted February 26, 2013 Author Posted February 26, 2013 You can rotate the brackets the opposite way so problem solved It's so simple! It has to work. But I don't know if I like the look of it. Quote
Amjad Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 It's there to make it handle not look pretty Quote
FreedomCore Posted February 26, 2013 Author Posted February 26, 2013 Im trying to achieve both. =] Quote
Amjad Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Haha any strut brace looks better than none ;) Quote
Asad Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 got one with fixed ends and fit it neatly, its an aftermarket part after all cant expect it to fit like factory Quote
RicoW Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 a Toms one will fit without trimming too but is very rare Quote
FreedomCore Posted February 27, 2013 Author Posted February 27, 2013 Ok so ill probably have to trim regardless. But while i have your attention. What does everyone think of the Ultra Racing strut? Was considering getting it and maybe painting it up in something darker than white. More like Black. =] Quote
Asad Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Aslong as it has fixed ends + has a thick solid bar not a hollow one get the cheapest Quote
Addymk2 Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Aslong as it has fixed ends + has a thick solid bar not a hollow one get the cheapestWhy a solid bar? :-S Quote
FreedomCore Posted February 27, 2013 Author Posted February 27, 2013 Why a solid bar? :-S You took the words right out of my mouth. Would it be due to flexing? Quote
Asad Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 exactly ^ most important thing is get one with welded ends have a read thru and check the test pics out: http://www.ultraracing.my/home/knowledge-base/material-and-design/ Quote
FreedomCore Posted February 27, 2013 Author Posted February 27, 2013 There is trimming involved with ultra racing ones. I sent you a pm, and then realised who said about the ultra racing strut in my thread. *face palm* Quote
Asad Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 most hollow bars have a very thin wall thickness thus lack strength, they also usually have thin strut top plates with pivots.....a solid welded bar is best or atleast a welded bar with a thick hollow tube anything which isn't absolutely rigid, detracts from the intended function of bracing imo of course Quote
rmsnoel Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 But the standard hollow strut brace on the glanza and gtt are both ample. Anything that doesnt bend.when you stand on it is more.than up to the job Quote
shorty Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 so my tein brace isnt as good as a gt one because it has pivot ends? damn if only tein knew about handaling they could of designed it better Quote
