2333ricky Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I no you say..."But in no way does it affect the way the gearbox works"...but it is a lot of money for a box with a hole in it and if something did get in there your box is ruined. Quote
Jhandy Posted March 2, 2013 Author Posted March 2, 2013 Nothing is in there. I have the pieces. As I said I can have the hole welded up Quote
Jhandy Posted March 9, 2013 Author Posted March 9, 2013 Bump I will now sell this with the rear gear box mount Quote
RM15_Glanza Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Id be interested if you have proof of the diff in there id only want the diff tho box is no use to me specially with the hole in the top lol i know you say theres nothing in there but little bit suspect Quote
Ep'd Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 (edited) I remember some people doing mods on there micras on the msc forum drilling holes in their gearbox housings for better ventilation and cooling just to mention they were no standard micras. The holes caused no damage to the internals. Unless they were just lucky. Will try and find that thread Edited March 20, 2013 by Ep'd Quote
morgey Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Get a picture through the driveshaft holesHeres a comparison of what some diff's look like when looking through, so if it doesn't look like the stock one then its obviously lsd also i can add cusco lsd to this list if you do grab a picture http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/55996-identifing-aftermarket-lsds/#entry717283 Quote
Jhandy Posted March 20, 2013 Author Posted March 20, 2013 well here are the pics of where the driveshafts go and as you can see its not standard this is the nearsideand here is the offsideId be interested if you have proof of the diff in there id only want the diff tho box is no use to me specially with the hole in the top lol i know you say theres nothing in there but little bit suspect pictures for you bud Quote
Matty2kn1 Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Sorry to hijack the thread but am I wrong in thinking that LSD boxes normally have the extra transfer section to make it equal length drive shafts? Quote
Jhandy Posted March 20, 2013 Author Posted March 20, 2013 only factory lsd, this is after market bud Quote
Matty2kn1 Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Ah rite fair enough. Is it possible to do the conversion to give equal length shafts on these boxes? Quote
Jhandy Posted March 20, 2013 Author Posted March 20, 2013 You use standard shafts bud. But I'm not sure if this LSD would fit into a factory LSD box. I think I have 2 sets of standard shafts I know I have one set that goes with this box Quote
Whitenoize Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Would you sell the LSD out Of the box as the box would be no good to me? Quote
