ryan lang Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 got a serious boosting issue boys and girls im not hitting full boost til around 6k and its on a ct9 hybrid!!! now the cold side circlip isnt very good and the housing is free to rotate (really easy) when not bolted up would this cause a leak from the housing itself? ryan Quote
turbo Grant Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Take it you can hear it hissing like mad up the road then? Quote
ryan lang Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 Yeah it makes hell of a noise when spooling up. I'm waiting for a mate to put up a vid of a tunnel run, a d I'm sure you can hear it on that Quote
ryan lang Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 Haha hasn't even realised I said that lol Quote
Liam_D Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Send me a video of this mate and ill see what I can hear and maybe get a solution for you. Mine moves a little due to being rotated. But it shouldn't move enough to cause an issue. Quote
Socks Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 The noise could also be loose manifold to turbo bolts/nuts... Check pipework... Also try turning actuator up a tad this can somtimes help spool and somtimes wont effect boost level if its set very slack... Quote
turbo Grant Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 the cover on the compressor housing should be nice an tight really. i had a rotated ct9 with the outlet facing down with no locating pin. Even then mine was really stiff to turn might be worth trying another o ring and clip if you can get your hands on them Quote
Mike_trx Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Failing finding anything with the turbo, check for tiny cracks in the manifold or decat too Ryan. As Socks said check your nuts too (ew errrr!) Quote
ryan lang Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 Mani to turbo bolts are tight. It's been like it no matter how many times I fit it. And when I mean loose, it just spins under its own weight not if j move it by hand. And pretty sure it can be wiggled side to side a little to.Pipe work is fine, even when the actuator was set to 1 bar is was delayed boost levels Quote
ryan lang Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 I've got my old ct9 ill rob the bits off that Quote
shorty Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Defo leaking from housing id say. Mate it should be bloody tight tbh i used to struggle to move mine with no compressor locating pin and a rotated housing. Air escapes easy under preasure so if its that lose id say thats where your losing it. Quote
ryan lang Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 Yeah it sounds like a screamer pipe! Lol. Gunna put my other clip from my ct9 I'm there and see what happens Quote
shorty Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Yea good shout dude, sort it asap as you dont want too much play in the housing as if it conects with the blades your gonna eat the blades. Quote
ryan lang Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 seals are fine its the valve stem seals that are gone Quote
