Glanza-Ben Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I was about to fit mud new hybrid and came with some troubles one the hks seems to tight and won't go on is this the wrong actuator? And the second is I can't even use my old actuator as its the hole type Quote
Glanza-Ben Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 When it's bolted on its miles off Quote
Glanza-Ben Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 I can't wind it any more it's that short Quote
morgey Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 What kind of hybrid is it? Somethings obviously different to the old one. If you get really stuck run to a machine shop and get a new longer arm made for it. Quote
ryan lang Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 whats the length of the bit that comes off dude? ive got a fitting for a hks and i think it may be longer than that Quote
Glanza-Ben Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 It's a speed vision 2 hybrid and the hks actuator I bought off here as was ment to be for a ct9 and Ryan land it's 6cm and 3mm long the bit the comes off, am pissed right off as nothing I have bought off people on here ever fits and I have to end up buying more bits Quote
StarletSr? Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Looks like the bit its screws onto is too short. Quote
Glanza-Ben Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 Yea that's what I'm thinking I've looked at other hks ones on the net and they all look the same either way I'm pretty pissed off as have a car with a blown turbo a hybrid with no actuator and a hks actuator that's no fitment to my turbo at all Quote
StarletSr? Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Cant you use the standard actuator for now? Quote
Glanza-Ben Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 Na as mine is pin type and this is hole type :/ Quote
whitestar Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Yeah defo looks short, but seems like you should be able to just pull the arm out another cm and it would be ok? Although I think the boost would be quite high, so if you get it on be careful with it first! Quote
Glanza-Ben Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 If I pull the arm out to make it fit the turbo will be about 90psi lol can some one put a pick of the hks actuator up? It don't line up either but may of if it was longer Quote
whitestar Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I'll go out and take a pic for you of mine. Just wait a few minutes. Quote
morgey Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 If i was closer i would offer to make you one at work but im not Quote
Glanza-Ben Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 Cheers bud i just wish bits would just fit that I buy off here Quote
Glanza-Ben Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 If i was closer i would offer to make you one at work but im not Thanks for the that bud I wish I could just make something was ment to be goin to a show Saturday at castle Combe hence needing to change my turbo but gonna have to cancelled that now Quote
whitestar Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 (edited) Here you go: The lenght from actuator to the locking nut is about one key lenght and the boost is 1.1 bar. Don't have a ruler her so can't measure. Edited April 22, 2013 by whitestar Quote
Glanza-Ben Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 That don't look any different to my actuator :/ but Shorely that would mean the hybrid is wider but that won't make sense either Quote
whitestar Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I had to pull quite hard with pliers to get it on. It has to be tight to keep the wastegate shut long enough. Quote
Weyro Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 will the end piece with the hole in it fit onto the old actuators threaded arm? Quote
Glanza-Ben Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 If I pull any tighter on mine to try fit it I think it will rip the rod out the actuator and the rod don't sit straight then it comes out at a angle will the end piece with the hole in it fit onto the old actuators threaded arm? My old actuator is just a stock one on my other ct9 Quote
whitestar Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 (edited) Mine came out at angle too, it's normal I guess as mine works perfectly. Actually had to have a friend helping on getting it on, that's how tight it is! The arm has a little play, I think twisting the arm could do more harm than pulling. Just screw the actuator on and pull the rod in to it's place. It's really stiff I tell ya! Anyone else had similar experience? Edited April 22, 2013 by whitestar Quote
Glanza-Ben Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 I will just eat me dinner and try again and see what happens Quote
