MARC MOSS
Just drive there and go on track and enjoy it mate, if it breaks then it has issues lol it's not like u are gonna drive It so hard you will kill it in a 15 min session is it! If going by your avatar is what your engine looks like then I guess u already have it setup ready for some fun no ? Edited May 13, 2013 by MARC MOSS
yaristurbo
5e gt35 lsd a048rs at the front just don't want failure lol Stripped back to nothing
Chris_14a
Depends how long you want it to last for example standard brakes will probably cook themselves after a few laps depending how fast you drive due to how fast donnington is but you will feel it and can slow down if required. Same with oil depends how you drive if its flat out the oil will get hot quick without a cooler. I have spent the last 2 years slowly adding things to the list as I have been on more and more track sessions and a lot of advice from other people. The one mod I would recommend would be gauges as at least you can keep an eye on everything and back off when needed
morgey
Yeah 20mins session will be fine. Oil temp gauge if you want to keep your eye out but no need for a cooler imo.Tyres, you just drive within the limits of what you have. You might start to overheat t1r's or pradas if you drive very hard from the word go but unlikely as you wont know the track
Amjad
Gauges and brakes for sure, and if you can afford them some tyres that can take a bit of heat but if it's only a 15min session road tyres will be fine
Chris_14a
A gt35 will be fun on track all the lag haha. Depends on your driving and if your worried your less likely to kick its head in
turbo Grant
Gt35 crew should be fun. I'm thinking track time as well
Arnold
At Japfest 2, there are only two 20 minute sessions which are the Novice and Intermediate ones. The rest of the day is the advanced open pit sessions which are about 4 hours long. I'm in the 12:10 Novice A session. - http://japfest2.seetickets.com/event/japfest-2/donington-park/685414 Definitely upgrade the brakes, there's just no point going on standard ones as they'll die in 2 minutes. My CRN grooved disks with EBC yellow pads warped after 15 minutes, but they were being hammered. I've got EBC disks and pads this time. I didn't have an oil cooler fitted and had no issues with over heating there, just give the car a service and make sure it's healthy enough to get abused. And finally, make sure it isn't louder than 98db. Mine registered at 98.4 and had to bung it Edited May 14, 2013 by Arnold
pick1
Just take it on track and enjoy it mate I went on track at jf2 last year with no oil cooler just keep an eye on your gauges and your brakes will last pending how much u abuse then mine dint start fading till near the end of the session but I was concentrating on smooth lines and not stamping on em at ever corner I loved being out on track mate and deffo think u should give it a go
Jamie1st
With the setup you have got there's a few things you will need:- gauges (oil temp, pressure, water)- oil cooler (running that power/boost will soon cook the oil)- bigger brakes (last year in 15-20min at Donnington I cooked my standard brakes so bad that the piston came through the pads, at 120mph!!)- with the a048r's I'd be tempted to say a baffled sump aswell

Amjad
I'm looking at oil cooler kits too for mine, seems the cheapest way is to just make one up! JPerformance do a kit without a thermo but I don't know if anyone has used one (put up a thread the other day to no avail)
Chris_14a
Just take it out and see if you enjoy it first before you spend loads of money Edited May 14, 2013 by Chris_14a
