mattglanza79
Currently running a ssqv but thinking of goin the chatter way. Is this wise. And how is it done.
Weyro
its more than wise, its what all the cool kids are doing, like cocaine you just remove the dump valve, then block off any holes or pipes that are left over
StuDoc 72
Some say it does damage but there is no proven records of it. The only thing it causes is tiny amounts of unnoticable lag. Personally its the way to go sounds so much better than a BOV. Its done by taking your ssqv off and blocking off the cooler hole and the vac pipe that go to it. Ep'd
Chatter noise is the turbo blades stalling and will eventually damage the turbo. Be wise. Your ssqv probably needs adjusting the spring is too hard needs loosening

AdamB
It does put some strain on the thrust bearings, however I'd expect them to be tough enough to take it for quite some time before anything noitceable happens. It's not very often you see a turbo fail due to this.Saying that though if your only on a cheap turbo which can be picked up for a couple of skittles, then I wouldn't worry, however if your running a turbo which is like £1000+ I would run one. RobSR
Itll be fine, if it can take bar's of pressure its not going to get hurt. It does make me laugh how some people say it completely stalls, and in some cases can spin backwards. oh trololololol Edited August 14, 2013 by RobSR

Mikeyallgood85
Surely air witch comes back out your turbo because of not having a bov isn't good in the long run! This will cause the turbo to stall Witch will make a difference to the pick up but how much depends on your set/turbo!

Mikeyallgood85
You need a synchronic bov if you want to stop the chatter!
