Need help on forging

Recommended Posts

no bud forged kit normally consists of ACL big end bearing connecting rod bearings forged pistons and connecting rods gudgeon pins and a full set of piston rings

best to go for a .5 overbore so there is no sloppiness in the bores everything is nice a fresh

Need a website that's sells a forged kit but I want to keep stock bottom end because I don't want to go down the road of reboreing the cylinders

when you say 'keep stock bottom end' you should be say 'keep stock block' as thats what you are meaning.

as other have pointed out to replace the rod and pistons with forged items is upgraging the 'bottom end'

but as per your request you would need a kit with stock diameter pistons (74mm) to allow you to simply rehone and fit without any serious engine block work.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

if the car is a longterm commitment & daily driver i would put the extra machining costs to the back of your mind and go for 74.5mm pistons and therefore a 0.5mm overbore on the block.

if the car is a weekend toy/drag/track etc then whatever slight nastiness may occur from just a rehone it probably wont cause you undue heartache, just the amount your choosing to let yourself in for lol
