EP82 Starlet GT TD04 spares or repair

Recommended Posts

Here for sale is my 1994 toyota starlet gt turbo as spares or repair. The starlet started to run a little rough so I had a compression test done; all cylinders come up with low compression, the starlet has been parked up since i did the compression test and has not been started since to avoid any further damage. I do not have the spare time to fix the starlet, so it will be sold as it stands. The body has a few age related marks such as scratches and dings; the nearside rear quarter panel has some lacquer peel, 7/10 on bodywork. I have a folder full of old mots, receipts and several rolling road printouts. The most recent rolling results show 210bhp/190ftlbs. The interior is pretty much stock with the rear stripped out. The under body is very clean, the starlet is rust free. The clocks have been changed due to fuel gauge giving inaccurate readings; the mileage of the original clocks was 137521km when they were replaced. The starlet was run strictly on Shell V-power.

My old car! Good luck with the sale but having owned this car for 7 months I can say unless the next owner (which I doubt) put it on there, this car does not have a cusco LSD. Never the less this will be an incredibly good car when sorted. GLWTS.

It belonged to Andy Oak, then N80Jamie on here, then all-legend, then me (for most of 2013), then a member on here called Tanveer who sold it after two weeks.. Then this guy. So I don't think so!

  • 1 month later...

85psi - 30psi - 80psi - 75psi.

ah, was hoping for yourself it would be better.. on the other hand, ive never seen readings like that before on a 4efte.. you can clearly see that theres a problem with cylinder 2 alright but why are the others so low but still within limits..?? are you sure it wasnt: 185psi - 130psi - 180psi - 175psi...???

may i ask what the compression test readings were...??

yeah if all low, easily be a bad tester/test.

check before pissing you car away.

Phil

EDIT just read rest of thread lol,

yes a poor test or tester but no.2 is gone either way.

The compression test was done whilst the engine was cold; reason being i did not want to warm the engine up in its current state for a period of time which could cause further damage. If the engine was warm i would have got higher results, either way cylinder 2 has got a problem.
