Jack it up under the lower arm where it bolts to the chassi/floor, obv put a thick bit of rubber or wood ontop of the jack first. I try not the jack a car up on its sills wherever possible, messes them up really.

Ohh yeah if youre putting it up on a 2 post ramp it might be a pain. I have this problem all the time when people bring in lowered cars into work. What i normally do is drive the car onto 2 pieces of wood, 1 under each front wheel, so it raises the car a bit, then i can get the legs under with the rubber bit twisted as far up as i can. And for the rear i put a jack under the rear axle or diff to raise it up enough to get the back ramp legs under the skirts, again with the rubber bits wound wound as far up as i can get them.

Hope that makes sense, bit of fucking about but it works lol.
