I've warped the block by doing what rubbing it down with a flat disk on a block ?

I'm not expert in this.. But surely you could of.. If you applied more pressure one end, and less the other it will rub deeper and therefore warp it?

Get a steel ruler and feeler gauge and take measurements all over the surface of the block make sure you write it down, then compare the results from in between each cylinder against each other I'd say 0.0020mm is the max limits of play any more and I'd say it needs re decking, I could be out in the measurement but a quick Google could confirm that

For future reference, the torque settings for oem headbolts are relavtively low and can cause the hg to not be sealed proper.. they should be 30% more for the small bolts and 40% more for the longer bolts.

Dunno if it helps but bear it in mind when puttin it back together!
