1. Yes same inlet and TB as the FTE engine.

2. Idle control valve

3. Yes same fuel rail as the FTE

4. MAP sensor

5, 6 & 7 are all to do with aircon iirc.

It all looks the exact same as the Gen 1 4EFE in my 85 before i messed about with it.

What car is this Gen 1 5EFE in ?

Missed that lol.

Looks more like a 1st gen 5e-fhe, take a photo of the exhaust manifold please.

It all looks identical to the 1st Gen 4EFE, and since there was never a 5E put in starlets from factory am gonna guess its a typo by the OP and he means 4E.

its in a starlet and i have changed the engine to 5efe...as it accelerates so fast than any other 5efe, i doubted and searched about the engine.and got to know that its 1st gen 5efe.then i found out about the fte inlet and tb.so took some pics of the bay and posted it here.but its not turbod i am 100% sure :).


though i will post the pic of the manifold soon. I am planning to build a 5efte :-D



now i am also doubting about the ecu.can anyone tell me where its located??behind the audio system??

could be a 5e engine from a cynos or paseo iirc the cynos 5e has an acis manifold there are two variations of the 5e engine 5efe and 5efhe



as for pic one


could be 4efte or 4efe inlet there similar the throttle body iirc correctly ,,,the sensors are different the bore is 5mm diferrent on the 4efe (45)mm


4efte is (50)mm



2nd pic is the ICV or idle control valve



3rd pic is the fuel rail same as 4efte but will have different coloured injectors injectors between 4efe and 4efte pale green/grey are usually turbo injectors



4th pic map sensor



5th pic has something to do with aircon along with 6th pic and 7th




the ecu is located behind the glovebox,,,, the 5efe will run on the 4efe ecu as they share the same plugs but wont run on a 4efte ecu or even fit as they is a an extra socket on the 4efte ecu

Though i hv uploaded manifold pics but i wasn't able to take a closer pic cause the place is so compact any way, let me describe it manually.the piping of the manifold is individual until it meetsthe collector.and the flange looks square shape similar to ct9 may b where it connects with the decat.and the downpipe which connects with the decat is oval shape.....the exhaust manifold looks like fte mani to me but there is no turbo....

Everything you have there including a lightweight ep82 is the ideal n/a car. What you have is what the rest of us want to build. Congrats. What is your rpm limit? I would change nothing but I would get you airfuel ratio measured on a dyno. Any more photos or videos- have you a build thread?

Thank you bro.No,i dont have a build thread. I hv got this engine direct from japan as it is.i hvnt change a single thing.i hv swapped the engine.it was 4efe before with no rev counter in its cluster.i hv changed it to gt cluster with rev counter+installed plasma dials in it.so dont know the rev limit honestly.and bro i would like to upload more photos, what photo do you want to see?
