Ebay intercoolers

As above are these Ebay, hdi, fmic's any good i have bought one but turned up today huge,heavy core and Chinese writing on the box should i send it back as i have heard mixed reviews not planning on huge power for the moment sorting the handling out first.

What do people think do they do the same job as the more expensive branded parts?

Pipework looks good enough just had it on the scales and it's 7 kilos is that normal just looks massive for a small turbo

The HDI cores are massive, most people literally butcher the bumper for them to fit, i notice you have a silver GT with an un-cut bumper, please dont destroy it lol.

I don't wanna do it ideally mate but the top mount is so ugly in the bay how do some people get away without chopping it?

Some people buy bumpers that are already cut to keep theirs minty. Or just carefully dremel away until it fits, aftermarket bumpers like TOMs where designed with FMICs in mind so theres lots of room behind them.

perhaps some custom piping would be the answer could always flog the short route on here personally i like the standard bumper as it is.

Yeah same the standard bumper is smart as, very hard to come by especially in silver.

If you cut the pipework down a smidgen and attach it with custom brackets (I used fence fittings from homebase!) It pulls it in just tight enough to not need butchering. The HDI cores are huge and the brackets just push them out real far.

I have the large one from eBay. It would fit without cutting. But i personally wanted to cut it. Ruined a MINT 98 Spec front bumper! But, it was my decision and it preferred the aggressive look!
