Ollieh17 Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 (edited) Had a problem with misfiring/rev dropping. Did a diagnostics and got error code 14 ignition/amplifier. daniel_g Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Sounds like the coil/ignitor, the king lead goes to it, this bolts to the bulkhead and gets its earth from there. Unbolt and check for corrosion, they can fail internally occasionally. Quote

daniel_g Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Its held on with two 10mm bolts next to the heater matrix pipes, if theres corrosion on the bulkhead clean it all up and try a diagnostic again. Or swap it with another one and see how it goes.Not really seen that fault code before but it does sound like an ignitor issue. Quote

WallaceGlanza Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 No it's the solenoid which controls the vacuum for the carbon canister. Shouldn't really cause any misfire issues if it's faulty though, but if it's sorted hey ho! Quote
Ollieh17 Posted December 14, 2013 Author Posted December 14, 2013 I think it is, drove this morning and konked out 3-4 times. Since rewiring hasn't done it once, could be a coincidence? Did also take off the ignition coil at the same time Quote
