Chops
Hello all, got another problem here. pottering round town on a very wet morning with shithouse tyres, and ive locked up into a kirb at about 20 . seemed alot worse at the time than it does now, no bodywork damage cause the back and bottom of the nearest wheel took all the brunt, but its in need of repair and id like to know what might be wrong with it before i let some barrys loose on it. Its rocking some mad positive camber and toe out on the drivers side, and a quick jacked up look under showed me the wishbone is bent and probably the hub where it bolts on. the driveshafts and other gubbins seem ok, but i never studied automotive engineering so i dont no what a shunt to the side of the wheel would do to things. any ideas of what might need to be replaced would be a help, give me an idea of cost n shit! Amjad
You can get new bodywork and brackets, I had to buy a few bits here and there from Toyota when I repaired mine
Chops
its in the shop now, im letting them deal with this one. got some ball joints from idworkz, trying to get some polybushed replacement wishbones and a cheeky anti lift kit from shorty on here, but its a bit of a nightmare with no car and the worlds least reliable mates lol. Chops
More problems, replaced the wishbones and balljoints, but the wheel isnt quite right still. has a silly amount of toe out which i think would be new track rod/ends, but the wheel itself doesnt have the same camber as the other side and has considerable caster when turned. is my chassis bent, or is there something else im missing? i havnt got the means to jack the car up and look myself, and i cant get it on a ramp till saturday, and id like to take it in with as much knowledge of what to look for as possible. any pics of the underside of a healthy '82 would be appreciated!
