smithyithy
Can anyone offer any input to this setup? Set of wheels I'm looking at only come in 16x7 ET40 for 4x100 fitment.. Was planning on 195/45 tyres but I'm worried the high offset could cause rubbing on lock if it's lowered.. Anyone ran anything similar?
daniel_g
I had the exact same wheels & tyres on my old GT, no issues at all, was lowered on Tein springs which were ment to be 40mm but it still sat high lol.
daniel_g
Also that offset means the wheel is closer to the hub as apposed to being pushed out towards the arch like ET10 for example.
smithyithy
Cheers, is the GT fitment very similar to the Glanza? I know about the offset, I was worried that a larger diameter at a higher offset would rub the inner arch, a set of 15's I had on an old car used to. I'm currently running 15x7 w/ 195/50... I'm not 100% of the offset but I compared them on willtheyfit.com and they're coming out very similar I was tempted to go down to 195/40, but with the state of our roads that may be asking for trouble
daniel_g
As in arch space on GT compared to a Glanza ? Id say the same probably, never thought about it lol.I get what ya mean, if it rubs the inner arch you could get some spacers to shift the wheels out slightly.
smithyithy
Cool, thanks dude. I guess I should get saving
TrisK
Gt rear beam is narrower iirc
pinske
I have the same size wheels on my ep91, albeit mine are et38 and its on coilovers. Mine catch rather badly if I have it any lower than 70mm.

I shouldn't think I'd be going 70mm down, I won't have rear passengers anyway so won't need to account for any drop there..

smithyithy
Ah okay, well I've based the fitment on Whitestar's Glanza, he's running 16x7.5" ET35 with 195/40: I don't think he has any issues at his height, I know he's got a smaller tyre profile to allow to stretch for clearance, but he also has an extra .5"and 5mm lower offset. I'll see how it goes
morgey
My Sr rubbed completely stock with the 195/45/15's stock suspension et38 and 6 or 6.5 wide. I think it really is luck of the draw with these cars lol
