Zeldoz
Just fitted this..Black to black, red to blue as Mike explained. But the car is just turning over and not starting? When I put the key in and turn twice I don't hear it prime fuel, but where I turn it back twice I can hear it suck the excess fuel back..?So it must be getting power... Lost and anoyed it won't start now lol...
TurboTobz
Run 12v perm live and a fresh ground to it If it runs it's the wiring or supply... if not may well be a fault with pump.
Zeldoz
Mike said cut n splice which I've done?I do hear it wur when I turn the key as in the off position but when I go 2 times ready to start it doesn't prime? dangeestarlet
Sure you haven't cut the wrong ones and cut through the fuel gauge wire instead of pump wire? Edited January 22, 2014 by dangeestarlet
Ryan-11
take the fuel feed pipe off the fuel rail and get someone to turn it over and see if fuel come out, use something to catch the fuel. Edited January 22, 2014 by Ryan-
TurboTobz
Sounds like sometings not wired in rightI'd start by checking pump with power.
Zeldoz
I've cut the wire that fed into the pump itself. Cut the plug off which replugged into the main part..I'll get a picture lemme remove the cap again

Zeldoz
Just put the standard one back in, I've used the TD plug so the OLD plug Is still of the car and it wouldn't start...Is it possible I've done a fuse??
Zeldoz
All fuses fine
dangeestarlet
Might have check the fuses under bonnet , and if not find a bit of electrical cable and run it off the blue wire on the pump which I think is the live and the other end to the positive on the battery , speaker cable or something will do just to try
Zeldoz
Put old pump on... TurboTobz
Multimeter the wires in the car, make sure your getting them to the pump correctly
Zeldoz
There is one wayBlack to blackBlue to redEven TD said that when I rang before I left work... I'm stumped... Atleast it's runing again on the standard pump!
Arnold
Dodgy pump then if your wires check out?
TurboTobz
also if you have twist n taped them remember petrol will dissolve the adhesive then you have two bare wires which could spark!
Zeldoz
also if you have twist n taped them remember petrol will dissolve the adhesive then you have two bare wires which could spark! Tape is over a crimp. Im getting the TD pump soldered in on Monday along with some head shrink. We'll see how that goes. If nothing still, it MUST be a dodgey pump! TrisK
i might do a continuity test along the wiring for the pump too possibly a manufacturing fault and there is a broken wire in the new pump wires.
triple j
As said above try a direct 12volt and earth, put it to your battery to test and I bet it will work.
Zeldoz
As said above try a direct 12volt and earth, put it to your battery to test and I bet it will work.Yeah it worked.Getting it soldered Monday by an electrician. We're see then, he has multimeters and all sorts of electrical gadgets!
daniel_g
Well if it works with a direct 12v feed, but then it doesn't work after youve wired it in, then surely the fault is with the wiring youve done.
