morgey
1.5l 3 cylinder and 400hp. Ok not all that impressive but it weighs 40kgs!! You could lift that in place on your own lolhttp://www.carthrottle.com/witchcraft-is-the-only-way-to-explain-nissans-incredible-400hp-1-5-litre-3-pot-engine/

mikey4410
that sort of technology has got to be worth at least £200 quid lol. that picture reminds me of a husaberg 501 engine in a bike i used to have. tiny compact engine but nearly 65 bhp and stupid amounts of torque

Chris_GlanzaV98
its very impressive, i seen it earlier today and though we were good to get that power but they have one less cylinder, albeit more cc
AdamB
The most impressive thing is the fact it weighs so little, but you have to question if every part is made lighter to reach the 40kg weight goal how many fatigued cycles can the engine go through before a component fails. Still not as impressive as getting 2000bhp from a 1.5 litre engine

Still not as impressive as getting 2000bhp from a 1.5 litre engine It's a le man's engine so good for upto 24 hrs of almost non stop abuse. I'm guessing you are quoting 70's F1 engines with the 2000hp? If so the lasted the whole of qualifying at that then detuned to race power for reliability for the whole of 1 race... Either that or they just use the 1.5 litre engine to charge the batteries, whichever way they want to work it I guess. Nope V6 1.5 litre engine designed by a lecturer at my uni, however was never put into production for F1 because they deemed it ludicrous lol.
Addymk2
Can't wait for them to fit that in a micra
Jay85
Is the 400bhp not including the electric motor as well??
AdamB
Is the 400bhp not including the electric motor as well??The 400bhp comes from the internal combustion engine only.
