ady2k5
Hello all. When i got my Glanza, it came with a few stonechips, these are mainly around the front bumper and some of the NSF wing. I presume they probably happened in Japan or whilst being drive all the way up from Southampton to Birmingham.Whats the best solution to get rid of these, my Glanza is a silver one. I've heard you can get some touch up paint, but you have to very careful when applying it, but does it make much of a difference when applied. What would companies such as Chips Away use, (although they are quite expensive and i've been told it could be around £75 a chip). Many thanks
StarletRick
respray is the best way im afraid. touch up pens look shit even if applied well. have it resprayed and then finished with anti stone chip laquer.

StarletRick
it wont stop curbing mate. its called armourfend or something like that. its a pain to apply though. if you dont clean it properly it can discolour etc. it has its pros and cons. google it to see what you think. Nanglebadger
no i wasnt thinkin of curbing as theres nothin could stop that. i just meant stone chips on wheels is all, would be just my luck to recondition a certain set of wheels u and i were discussing and then i'd get a dirty chip in my laquer and water would get in!Phil. Tintin_SR
no i wasnt thinkin of curbing as theres nothin could stop that. You ma be wrong there bud try TOYO Proxes T1-R as they have a lip that will fit the curb first thus stopping the curbing, I have them on my car and it works you have to hit the curb hard or have weird shaped curbs to do it with them on and I still have a brand new set of Proxes T1-R At home the older better ones oh yer think I will put them on soon

StarletRick
to be honest, on a road car you couldnt tell the difference. compund is the same just the tread is different for better water displacement.

Glanza Al
Anyway back to "anti stonechip" lacquer. There is such a thing, BMW and Mercedes use it on their cars, its like rock to the touch and when polishing like HS lacquer (high solid) but has a slightly rubbery texture, thus causing stones to "bounce off" and preventing them from chipping it so easily. Good stuff. Alex.
