Afternoon everyone!

My Glanza has coolant drips under the bonnet whenever I put my foot down.

It's seems the coolant system gets hot as normal and then uses the expansion bottle but too much is flowing into the bottle then using the overflow in the lid to spray out everywhere when driving!

Other info:

Car has a short civic radiator.

I fitted a 1.3 bar rad cap - thought this may have been why as it was a standard cap.

When engine is cold I have made sure the radiator is filled up & the expansion bottle is just above minimum to allow plenty of coolant expansion.

The fan comes on and off fine when the car is left idling!

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Andy

Hi Andy

Sounds like your head gasket has failed, the compression from your engine is leaking into your coolant system and forcing the water out :(

Its a head off job I am afraid, get your self a new Toyota Head gasket and bolts, dont forget to skim your head too at a machine shop.

Sorry its not the news your probably after :(

Ah man :-/

Cheers guys, I was worried this was coming!

Is it just unlucky or has something caused it?

I always warm her up and cool down so I can't see what I have done wrong?

It take ages to start aswell so is that another sign?
