Changing cv boots

Need to change my outer boots any tips to doing it cheers nick

Take wheel off, pull pin put of shaft. 30mm socket on the driveshaft nut undo that. Then undo the two 19mm bolts fron the strut disconnecting it from the hub. Once thats done you can move the hub so the shaft comes free. You can then pull it out the joint without removing the whole thing from the gearbox. An outer you may even be able to do with a cv boot tool without pulling it out

It's been a right bastard won't come out of the hub so now need all new boots ones I got were to big best place to get a new set?

I got all 4 new ones from ID Workz mate, proper good quality and comes with grease and new fitting clips

Not alone mate, tried getting my drive shaft out of my CV joint too and its a bitch still isn't done, haven't got round doing it lol i'll have another crack in a couple weeks when in free, hopefully it will come out with some persuasion

this is why I'm taking it to a garage to have it done lol its a ball ache job to do on axil stands and if you have not got the proper tools

Mine wouldn't budge even with a lump hammer can stay like it have took the top bearing off so I can slide new boots on

I've got the tools josh just no sleep in 24h rain and no movement in the cv I got pissed off and cut the inner boot off lol

i just don't have the time or space lol my garage i can only just get the car in plus no electric or workbench etc.

You don't need to take the joint off. Use a cone tool or cv spider tool, find them on ebay

I changed my outer CV joint today, the whole joint though not just the boot.

To be honest it was much easier than I thought. I had no trouble at all and it's the first time I had done anything around this area on the car before. Biggest pain was taking it all apart last week just to find out the spline count and the having to put the broken joint back on.
