jezzasin
hi guys, i joined the forum mainly for info as i have a project on the go that's slightly different from the rest, i have a 1989 k10 nissan micra which will soon be having a glanza v EP91 4e-fte swap, the only downside is i will be getting the engine without an ecu and loom, and this is the main reason i have joined dont laugh lol i know its a micra but nissan didnt really make decent engines that dont need a lot of fabrication to fit in a k10 and the 4e-fte is pretty much a drop in project with the headache of an ecu and efi lol
daniel_g
Sounds like a good project

jezzasin
this is how it looked when i bought it, i have since removed the word nissan from the sun strip and the carbon vinyl from the bonnet due to bubbling, the car now sits a bit lower at the front aswell, the previous owner was going to build a cg13det engine and cut the bumper ready for an intercooler but due to lack of funds put it on ebay where i won it for £275 with tax and mot lol, since then i have damaged the edge of the drivers door and the rear bumper by accidentally reversing into a past in a street with no lights lol i got a proper bargain with this car as there is some pretty rare goodies or so ive been told, jdm rear lights, march turbo wheels and a k10 specific set of spax krypton gas coilovers (apparently no one does coilovers for the k10)

jezzasin
Thanks guys, I'm thinking to make life a little easier I may gut the Micra to a bare shell to start with and fit a glanza V internal loom and fuse box, this will help with fitting the 4efte and also will help me use the clicks from one too, tha main problem I think I will have is fitting the clocks to my dash so unless I make a custom clock surround to hold them I may have to use an ep91 dash too. Now the one thing I am wondering is how much am I looking at paying for a complete internal uncut loom and fusebox from a glanza lol and a set of clocks too
jezzasin
does anyone have any info for the thread of the brake caliper banjo bolt, internal thread, is it m10x1.0?
turbo Grant
You would be much better off using the loom out of a GT has less wiring
jezzasin
thats an ep80/82 will the ecu and loom work with the engine from an ep91?
turbo Grant
You will need ep82 sensors for the engine. The ep82 ecu is 2 plugs instead of the 3 on the 91. It's really simple to retrofit the engine loom into the cars original loom. That's what I done on my ep70 4efte convertion
templar2007
Nice project buddy proper sleeper
jezzasin
thanks im hoping all goes ok with it, i have noticed too that the k10 does have a similar look to the ep70 and after reading through some of the blogs it fits pretty well in the ep70, im just wondering if the wishbones would fit too so i could run the correct brakes for the new engine and keep using the starlet/glanza box and shafts, have been looking around my local scrappys to find a starlet so i can whip the wishbones off to test fit but its a rare sight to see one scrapped lol
morgey
Is there not a brake upgrade from almeras or primeras you could use. Wishbones would be extremely lucky if they fit but I doubt they would
jezzasin
well im hoping to be very lucky as i want to use the same hubs to keep the box and shafts but doing so would need the brakes that go with the hubs as i doubt that almera/primera ones would bolt up to glanza hubs, having looked at a few blogs on the ep70 section that version of starlet seems to be the closest to a k10 shape wise so may sort of work, i know that the ep91 uses the same rear wishbone bush as a k10 thats the main reason for thinking wishbones may be a possibility
