akaye4000
Fitted my wilwoods with custom brackets I made with astra 280mm discs ds2500 pads pleased with the results:) Edited June 24, 2014 by akaye4000
WallaceGlanza
Looks good... except the pads aren't fully on the disc?... best solution, bigger discs!
akaye4000
The pads are fully on has 1-2mm inside the outside lip of the disc its not a very good photo and the brakes aren't bled yet so the pads arent in contact with the disc yet in the picture

WallaceGlanza
Ah yeah, it's just the angle of the photo. You'll enjoy them! The DS2500 are awesome and just get better with heat. Edited June 24, 2014 by WallaceGlanza
morgey
You might have problems with them squeezing on solid discs, Mine are a nightmare, other than that should be a great setup. Very similar to the Wms kit
akaye4000
All for £282 to:)

Very similar to the Wms kitBit confused by that as they are vented discs pretty much the same as wms kit
morgey
Sorry meant squeaking and instead of solid I meant blank. Was advised with my kit that if they squeaked I could groove my discs.
mech5107
Any more photos of the adaptor and the attachment to the knuckle?
akaye4000
Any more photos of the adaptor and the attachment to the knuckle?Haven't got any more photos but its just a piece of ali cut to size with holes tapped for the bolts to screw into through the original holes and then into the caliper
mech5107
Is it a flat bracket with some spacers between the bracket and the knuckle? How thick is the bracket?
akaye4000
The bracket is 10mm thick and flat with a 2mm spacer between on the hub side
mech5107
Is there any flex on the bracket? Is it stiff enough? I'm planning to do the same, that's why i ask. Also did you got a brake line kit for the starlet? how much?
akaye4000
Its absolutely solid. Already had braided lines re tapped the caliper to except 1/8 bsp banjo bolts
mech5107
Re-tapped the calipers? Is it really possible? I'm a bit afraid to do so...
TimD
You can get adapters for the calipers if you aren't confident about re-tapping them. The hardest part is the brackets, are they aluminum or steel?
amatthews45
The bracket is 10mm thick and flat with a 2mm spacer between on the hub sideYou should knock some more up you could make a little money from these brackets People are always on the hunt for budget 4 pots
akaye4000
Re-tapped the calipers? Is it really possible? I'm a bit afraid to do so...The threads are pretty much the same so doesn't require much at all. I might be making another couple of kits up soon for friends but seeing how I get on with this one first as ive saved the program to replicate the brackets:)
karl.
Where did you get the calipers from? Are they just the same as these? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wilwood-Forged-Dynalite-4-Pot-Brake-Caliper-Lug-Mount-/120743392487?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c1cddf4e7
akaye4000
http://www.summitracing.com but you need to buy the right size
Keri-WMS
So that's M12 into 10mm thick aluminium? Do you machine the uneven rear face of the caliper around the fluid port to get it to seal properly with the copper banjo washers and I assume you'll need to strip and clean/air blast the calipers to clear the swarf from re-tapping the fluid port out of the fluid channels? What did you machine the spigot rings for the discs out of?
