Nicholai
Hello All, I have been looking on the threads and what not seeing what people are running HP wise and what mods. I have noticed that everyone pretty much is running a Decat to get the good power but how are you getting through the MOT with the decat as it would fail the emissions. Bluebear
As far as I'm aware, no data exists for the cars pre-1995, so all the testers are obliged to do is a fast idle test iirc.

Matt1878
Exactly that. Mine passed the idle test but was not passing the 3000rpm test. Maybe my MOT'ers finger slipped on the 1995 test. Who knows?
Nicholai
I know that cars 1992 and under don't have an emissions test.
Matt1878
I know that cars 1992 and under don't have an emissions test.Indeed. Cars 96 onwards have a 3000rpm test whereas cars 92-95 only have idle test

DevonGT
If the car requires a CAT test of any sort, the CAT needs to be visable or it's a fail, regardless of the emissions.
akyakapotter
If the car requires a CAT test of any sort, the CAT needs to be visable or it's a fail, regardless of the emissions. That is why I have a sports cat to put in for mots

jordan walker
Find a lenient tester 👍 I'm fairly sure there's a few about if that's the only thing stopping your car from passing and your not selling it on then you might be able to find someone
aleximport25
hahaha that's wrong straight away buddy lol but if he doesn't do it you laughing haha sweet he seemed to inspect the car thoroughly but he sniffed up and said im not even testing it as he could smell a fail on emissions

Flaminsam
It's in the testers manual. Simple flow chart. Is the car an import, first registered before 96? Carry out non cat test. After 96? You glanza boys may have problems if you get an anal tester.
rob_bower
Mine gets through as it has an engine conversion from an undetermined source.
