tango123
got myself a new daily while the glanza is in bits. A seat ibiza 1.9TDI sport. Yes its a Seat boo hoo lol. Its been remapped by revo, supposedly running 150-160bhp. low down torque is great too. Question is, is the remap doing harm in the long run?? I ask this because shes's a bit lumpy on idle and as always smokes more due to remap, lump idle seems to be common on remapped diesel's.
MARC MOSS
my astra van made 192bhp on the thorny motorsport rollers mate it smokes like a bastard and the torque is incredible. it won't hurt it, although i blew my gearbox to pieces within three weeks lolThis won't happen to yours mind
Gainzy
I think maps are good pending on other mods it's the drive train that might disagree haha

daniel_g
Even bog standard a remap on a modern diesel shows some difference! Both in power and also higher mpg in most cases.Start ripping DPFs, EGRs, swirl flaps etc and turns diesels into animals. If its mapped right, ie on a dyno then should be sound. If some cunt came round the boys house with a samsung tablet, a usb and a tuning box then those kinda generic maps are gonna be the ones causing harm id have thought. 5T4R7ET N/A
Long term effects are the turbo is put under a bit more strain and if your putting your foot down at low rpm then the clutch will be put under more strain as well.If your doing high mileage then just leave as they come in terms of tuning. as you have noticed they start playing up because these modern diesels run high pressuresEgr delete keep oil cleaner for longer and car smokes less as well when standard. _shaun_
provided the maps good it should be a benefit ok you might wear out clutches or other parts slightly faster but the other side is from the factory the ecu is set with large parameters to allow for so many different varables and situations that having it mapped to your exact requirement can only help.
