carson230
My engine has a slight tapping sound at about 1200-1300rpm roughly. Ive checked the valve clearances. Anybody came across this before. It is forged
ROTABOOST
Is it worse when cold? Quite possibly a bit of piston slap

J40k-mo
Anyone find out problem with this? Mines just started rattling? So it can't be the inlet can can it? Are these engines bad for cams wearing or tappets etc?
5e colin
^^^^ there is a spring inside the intake cog that can wear down so yes can happen and the chimps dont start tappin al of a sudden its a slow progres from silent to noisey
Johnboy GT
This is a spare cam I have. I'm assuming the two holes I have pictured is where the service bolt goes? That will bring the cog round another tooth. Put in in the head, set the timing then remove the service bolt? I'm just making perfectly sure before I do it so sorry if it sounds dim.John
