dan106
Right, my gt has done this a few times, ill randomly notice it plooming blue smoke when i pull away, then it stops completely and it wont do it for weeks. T The first time was when i was in a car wash and it was idling the whole time while it got washed, when i left it smoked like fuck, then yesterday after i rolled down the spiral of a multistorey and drobve off it smoked again, not loosing loads of oil, done like 5000kms since ibve had it and ive had top it up like twice? The turbo seems fine as when i fitted my decat there was no excessive play in the shaft
patman
To be fair though mate you are loosing oil somewhere topping up twice in 5000kms means you need to find that leak
dan106
When i say top up i literally mean like 2mm below full though! It doesnt leak, slight seeping for the front main i think but not enough to warrant getting it done, it never leaves drops of oil on the floor anywhere
patman
Awwww that's better mate, normally blue smoke is turbo seals (but you would lose a fair bit of oil in the intercooler pipes) or valve stem seals
carson230
Most likely turbo seal exhaust side. My gt is doing the exact same thing, I can see oil at my flexi as its blowing out slightly so oil is going into the exhaust due to the seal, heated up/burnt when idling then I get a cloud of smoke when I take off or rev the car and it clears fairly quick
dan106
I dont think it is because when i de catted it there wasnt any oil anywhere inside, and that was after the first time with the blue smoke
carson230
Valve seals then
morgey
Knackered Pcv can cause smoke occasionally. Not sure how to test it though
dan106
Well i did the plugs today, and 1 and 2 were full of oil, and none of the plugs were very tight, so maybe thats what was causing the blue smoke?
5T4R7ET N/A
Most likely yes. Same thing happened to me when i bought my car. The spark plug seals needed changing.
dan106
Also had the ht leads fall apart, fuel line round off to the filter, crap day! I dont suppose youve got any ht leads laying about?
Johnboy GT
When I fitted a decat to my GT it started Burning oil. It was the turbo in my case.John
