starlet charged Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 hey new to this... i fitted a spuercharger to my toyota starlet its 1998.. its a 4efe none turbocharged engine... when i put the throttle down the car dies and like chokes... like its getting to much air and not enuff fuel...... anyone no what the problem is or what do i need thanks Quote

lukEp Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Map sensor is detecting positive pressure and your probably hitting a type of fuel cut. You need piggyback or standalone. Quote
Stu Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 You'll probably find that the supercharger is producing boost way earlier than a turbo would so the factory ecu isn't mapped to supply correct fuel/timing in those load cells. Have you had a wideband on it to see whats going on? Quote

Stu Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Just talk to whoever you will be going to for the tune - they will have a preference on ecu or hopefully a range of options. Can depend on your budget too - but engine management is not something you want to scrimp on Quote
