cory42
hi everyone. if you run 1 bar of boost on a stock ct9 will you need a different exhaust manifold? thank you.
patman
Unless you port the standard manifold then yes of course
cory42
ok thank you patman, ive only just bought a glanza 2 days ago which is running 1 bar of boost on the stock manifold and its blow the turbo gasket. which manifold would you recommend?
patman
Ok first things first mate turn the boost down, and find out if it has a fuel cut defender on it, I'm doubting it has a aftermarket ecu on it as still standard manifold, have a good look around this forum, as the way your car sounds at the moment 1bar of boost and completely standard I would advise not to boost it at all, what mods have been done to the car etc, Edited September 6, 2015 by patman
cory42
it has a fuel cut defender, and front mount intercooler but that's as much as i know. i think its still on the standard ecu. what would happen if i didnt turn the boost down? thank you

Whitenoize
This. that's 2.8 bar on a ct9 isn' it?? t I've seen that before ? Edited September 6, 2015 by Whitenoize
patman
First thing I would do mate for now is get yourself a standard actuator and put on ASAP then get that fcd off ASAP then get a good boost gauge fitted then go from there
cory42
ok will get that done asap, thanks for the help much appreciated. what part would i need to safely run 1 bar?
patman
A lot of money mate would be a good start to be fair, that's running a safe 1 bar, at the moment your well into the danger zone, and who ever sold you the car must of known himself the cars on the verge of blowing up, just do what I said above mate then go from there
cory42
ok thanks patman will get it sort asap
patman
Good man :-)
StuDoc 72
Dont fit a standard actuator. Just lengthen the rod on your adjustable one. ( turns down the boost ) Remove the FCD. Get a boost gauge and run 0.7 bar on your actuator.
patman
I said for him to get a standard one as then he can't go wrong his very new to this and has to learn like we all dos once, as just lengthening the rod on the adjustable one will probably turn into how long, then he might do it too long and get no boost etc, so just wacking a standard one on for now would be much easier and you can pick them up on here for like a fiver
StuDoc 72
Haha fair enough mate.

StuDoc 72
What? I don't get it. FCD's will most likely be HKS or JAM.
